JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Project Manager will lead transformational initiatives within Marriott’s Technology Experience Center, with a focus on operationalizing Marriott’s IT Asset Management (ITAM) program. In this role you will serve as an Initiative Manager to lead program management activities for rolling out ITAM practices, ensuring regulatory alignment, maturing change readiness, as well as to support the building out of strong communication channels across departments. As a Senior Project Manager, you will ensure teams align priorities, manage dependencies, and drive successful delivery for Asset Management programs and regulatory audits.

In addition to managing initiatives, the Senior Project Manager will partner with stakeholders and ITAM Program leads to design tailored communications for initiatives, ensuring from a global level teams and leaders are well-informed about upcoming changes. This role will also serve as a change advocate, driving the adoption of new processes and helping to foster a culture of continuous improvement. To succeed in this role, the Senior Project Manager must be adept at managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment as well as leading through change. Strong experience in Asset Management is essential, as well as the ability to navigate ambiguity and lead initiatives with a proactive mindset.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills

  • Undergraduate degree, equivalent experience, or certification
  • 7+ years’ information technology experience including:
    • 4+ years of Agile Project Management experience using Scrum, Kanban and SAFe methodologies
    • 4+ years project plans and project communications
    • 4+ years in managing large cross-functional programs
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Organization Change Management (OCM) practices and processes
  • Strong knowledge of ITAM governance and processes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for a wide range of audiences including executives, business stakeholders, and other IT teams.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively engage a wide range of audiences including executives, business stakeholders, and other IT teams, across multiple channels.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results under difficult conditions, particularly when faced with complexity and ambiguity.
  • Proven ability to lead and work with diverse cross-functional teams, both technical and non-technical teams.
  • Experience establishing and managing initiatives, epics, and underlying stories, tasks, etc. in Jira
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating meetings and workshops at multiple levels of an organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative, proactively identifying needs and driving projects forward with minimal supervision.

Preferred

  • Scrum Alliance Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) or PMI’s Agile Certified Professional (ACP)
  • SAFe certified – SAFe Agilist, SAFe Scrum Master, SAFe Release Train Engineer, or SAFe Product Manager/Product Owner
  • Asset Management certification – IAM or equivalent
  • POSCI Certification is a plus
  • Experience in working under regulatory and compliance programs
  • Experience in a leadership role in managing multiple workstreams within large programs
  • Strong visual design and storytelling portfolio (PowerPoint, infographics, etc.)
  • Expertise in creating high-impact presentations tailored for executive leadership, including the ability to design and deliver compelling PowerPoint decks and one-pagers.
  • Ability to define organizational change management strategies
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating meetings at multiple levels of an organization and an understanding of facilitation techniques
  • Ability to understand and represent both the business and technology
  • Thrives in a highly collaborative, matrixed, complex, fast paced environment

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Initiative Management

  • Oversee the execution of strategic initiatives spanning multiple teams, ensuring alignment with business goals
  • Facilitate collaboration between Agile teams, Product Owners, and stakeholders to drive initiative success
  • Identify and manage risks, dependencies, and roadblocks across teams to ensure smooth execution
  • Establish and track program initiative progress, reporting key metrics to leadership and stakeholders

Stakeholder Management

  • Supports team members, stakeholders and leaders with diverse styles, abilities, motivations, and/or cultural perspectives; utilizes differences to drive innovation, engagement and enhance results.
  • Communicate and champion customer experience considerations to business and global technology partners.
  • Builds relationships with teams to understand their practices, motivators, and detractors.

Strategic Communication

  • Meet with stakeholders to understand the key message, objectives, target audience, and delivery requirements for presentations or one-pagers.
  • Elicit relevant data, information, and insights about initiatives and changes to include in communications, ensuring the content is accurate, and reflects our strategic priorities.
  • Translate business objectives and technical initiatives into clear, compelling business narratives and visuals.
  • Create visually engaging one-pagers, infographics, and executive-level briefs, ensuring they are consistent with company branding and style guidelines.
  • Occasionally, present the finalized materials during meetings, portfolio reviews, or leadership meetings, providing additional context and insights when necessary.
  • Create and maintain visual storytelling toolkits using corporate branded templates and icon libraries with sample graphics tailored to the Technology Experience Center context.
  • Serve as an internal consulting partner to teams needing support with messaging and design.

Project Management & Delivery

  • Organize and align teams across departments to plan, manage and deliver approved cross-channel initiatives (projects, programs).
  • Participates in agile ceremonies to collaborate with team on prioritization and backlog management.
  • Identifies and understands issues, problems, and opportunities; obtains and compares information from different sources to draw conclusions, develops and evaluates alternatives and solutions, solves problems, and chooses a course of action.
  • Initiates and/or manages the change process, taking steps to remove barriers or accelerate its pace; serves as role model for how to handle change by maintaining composure under pressure or when experiencing challenges.
  • Sets high standards of performance for self and/or others; assumes responsibility for work objectives; initiates, focuses, and monitors the efforts of self-and/or others toward the accomplishment goals; proactively acts and goes beyond what is required.

The pay range for this position is $47.35 to $78.31 per hour.

Washington Applicants Only: Employees will accrue 0.0334 PTO balance for every hour worked and eligible to receive minimum of 9 holidays annually.
