The Product Analyst will work in the Product Development department of Universal Property & Casualty Insurance Company, a group that launches Homeowners products into new states and supports our existing business. The Product Analyst will work with product managers and various other departments to support homeowners product management, forms and manuals development, state filings, and other related projects.

The following are the usual, basic and essential functions of the position. These functions are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required.

Essential Job Functions

  • Perform competitive research and create product offering comparison report.
  • Research compliance and regulatory requirements, analyze the impact, determine action items, and follow up through the implementation.
  • Construct coverage forms, endorsements, manuals, and applications for new and existing products.
  • Prepare state rate/form/rule filings for new and existing Homeowners programs.
  • Communicate product changes to other functional areas in the Enterprise and assist with product training.
  • Develop IT requirements for system implementation of product changes.
  • Perform system testing of rates and user interface.
  • Design and maintain procedure and product documentations such as rate history, product specifications, etc.
  • Gather data and perform analysis in support of UW, Product and Actuarial teams.
  • All other duties assigned by Management.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Ability

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 2 - 5 years of experience in P&C Personal Lines insurance products.
  • Strong research skills particularly in the area of insurance regulation.
  • Experience in constructing coverage forms, endorsements, and manuals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong ability to multi-task on projects while being attentive to details and target dates.
  • Must be willing to learn new things and take on new responsibilities.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Advanced computer skills including MS Excel; Knowledge of SQL, VBA, MS Access helpful.
  • Familiarity with ISO, SERFF, and SNL.
