We are seeking a visionary and strategic Senior Director of User Experience (UX) to lead and scale our global design organization. In this role, you will shape and champion our end-to-end product experience strategy, guiding a high-performing team of designers, researchers, and UX leaders. Your influence will extend beyond design execution—you will act as a critical thought partner to Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Executive Leadership to drive innovation and deliver experiences that differentiate our brand in the market. Responsibilities

  • Executive Leadership & Strategy: Define and communicate a bold UX vision that aligns with company-wide business goals, serve as a key voice at the leadership table, influence strategic decisions with customer-centered insights, and foster a design-driven culture across the organization.
  • Team Building & Leadership: Build, lead, and mentor a world-class UX team of designers, researchers, content strategists, and design ops professionals. Create career development paths, mentorship programs, and hiring strategies to scale the UX team.
  • Product & Design Excellence: Establish and maintain design systems, research practices, and accessibility standards to ensure consistent, scalable experiences. Partner with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to drive experience quality, usability, and measurable user outcomes.
  • Customer & Market Insights: Champion user research and customer insights to shape the product roadmap. Evangelize the voice of the customer and advocate for their needs across the organization.
  • Operational & Organizational Impact: Optimize UX workflows and operations to improve velocity and quality. Own budget planning, resourcing, tooling, and vendor management for the UX organization.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Guide collaboration between UX, Product, Engineering, and Business stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Design, Psychology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in UX/Product Design, including 5+ years in a leadership or executive-level role.
  • Proven track record of scaling design teams and delivering impactful user experiences across complex products.
  • Strong expertise in design systems, accessibility, user research, and product strategy.
  • Exceptional skills in design thinking, user research, prototyping, and information architecture.
  • Excellent communication, storytelling, and executive influence skills.
  • Experience driving change in fast-paced, agile, or high-growth environments.
  • Experience mentoring other leaders and creating an inclusive, growth-oriented team culture.

Preferred

  • Demonstrated success aligning UX strategy with AI or data-driven product features.
  • Experience in SaaS, enterprise, or geospatial technologies is a plus.
  • Global design or research leadership experience.

The compensation offered to the successful candidate will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s work experience, education and licenses, work-related training, key skills, the core duties of the role and its associated responsibilities, additional benefits offered, and the location where the work will be performed. All Fulltime (30+ hours) employees are eligible for PTO, Sick, and Parental Leave; Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance; 401(k) Plan; Health Savings Account; Life Insurance; Employee Assistance Program; Pet Insurance. This is a full-time, remote role with a salary range of $170,000-$200,000, bonus eligible.
