Job Description:

The role of Business Project Analyst is an integral role in contributing to the success of the Sun Life Group Retirement Services (GRS) Business Development plan. Reporting to the Sr Manager Operations and Technology Management in this role you will provide meaningful support to the needs of the GRS business unit and operational processes of the Shared Services group.

The Project Analyst will be responsible to use a variety of systems and to provide access to group members to be successful in their day-to-day work supporting external client needs.

Tasks are expected to be completed following general instructions, and may require creativity for implementation, and analytical skills for required research. The expectation of the incumbent would be to also provide, when needed, recommendations for improvement to process, structure, organization and changes to general responsibilities following best practices.

What will you do?

  • Manage requests from the Business Development team; configure tools and systems that allow our teams to manage workflow as well as client and intermediary requests
  • Support system performance and access management processes issue triage and communication
  • Responsible for analysis, updating, testing and issue resolution with respect to in-take and workflow management tools supported within BD
  • Manage and provide basic design support for SharePoint sites, while considering risk and sustainability
  • Analysis and testing of requested system changes in UAT environment prior to business review and sign-off and movement to PROD
  • Support and assist in the re-engineering, improvement or replacement of business processes and associated technology
  • Lead investigation and deployment of AI tools to support efficient business processes

What do you need to succeed?

  • Experience with workflow platforms and or collaboration tools is preferred
  • Strong PC skills, including experience with Zoom, Microsoft Excel and SharePoint is preferred
  • Ability to identify areas of opportunity/improvement to existing processes

  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Demonstrated technical abilities (configuration and administration of systems)

  • Maintenance and design skills; experience with Wrike is an asset
  • Knowledge of Salesforce & AI tools

What will be nice to have:

  • University or college diploma in business, computer science or equivalent work experience
  • An understanding and/or experience applying project management methodology
  • General understanding of the Group Retirement Services business
  • Experience with client reporting applications, database design/structure/methodology, data querying tools, etc.
  • Process improvement experience

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
