SSBI IT Transformation is dedicated to enhancing our delivery and change management capabilities across EMEA and global markets. We are seeking a seasoned Strategy & Innovation Manager to support the Strategy & Innovation Lead in managing and monitoring IT strategies across multiple levels of the organization. This role ensures that local and regional IT strategies align with global IT objectives and comply with relevant regulatory requirements. The analyst will play a critical role in monitoring the innovation landscape within financial services IT, identifying trends and opportunities, and measuring performance against strategic goals using data-driven insights.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in IT strategy, data analysis, and innovation within financial services, along with a proven ability to design and execute metrics, address strategic gaps, and propose remediation plans. This is a hands-on, detail-oriented role requiring advanced analytical skills and familiarity with tools that support data analysis and strategy management.
Position Overview and Responsibilities:
IT Strategy Monitoring and Alignment
- Manage and monitor IT strategies at various organizational levels to ensure alignment with global IT objectives.
- Analyse and assess the execution of strategies, identifying areas where alignment with organizational goals or regulatory requirements is lacking.
- Regularly review and refine IT strategies to address emerging trends, risks, and business priorities.
Innovation Monitoring and Recommendations
- Track and analyse trends in the financial services IT innovation landscape, identifying opportunities for improvement or differentiation.
- Assess emerging technologies and their potential impact on organizational objectives and strategy execution.
- Provide recommendations for integrating innovative practices or technologies into the organization’s strategic roadmap.
Data Analysis and Decision Support
- Perform deep data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights related to strategy execution and innovation initiatives.
- Leverage technology tools to gather, analyse, and visualize data for effective decision-making.
- Provide data-driven recommendations to enhance IT strategy and innovation efforts.
Remediation Planning and Execution
- Develop remediation plans to address identified gaps in strategy execution or performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement solutions, ensuring successful delivery of strategic objectives.
- Track the effectiveness of remediation efforts and provide regular progress updates to leadership.
Performance Measurement and Metrics Development
- Design and implement fit-for-purpose KPIs, measurements, and metrics to track performance against IT strategies.
- Develop dashboards and reporting frameworks to provide insights into strategy execution, performance, and areas for improvement.
- Regularly analyse metrics to identify gaps or risks in meeting strategic objectives and propose actionable remediation plans.
Regulatory Adherence
- Ensure all IT strategies comply with applicable regulatory requirements and standards.
- Collaborate with compliance and regulatory teams to integrate requirements into strategic plans and identify areas requiring improvement.
- Monitor and document adherence to regulations, providing regular updates to leadership.
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 8–10 years of experience in IT strategy, innovation, or a related role, preferably within the financial services industry.
- Proven experience in managing strategy alignment across global, regional, and local levels within Europe.
- Deep understanding of regulatory requirements affecting IT strategy and operations in financial services.
- Demonstrated success in identifying and integrating emerging technologies into strategic plans.
- Strong knowledge of IT strategy frameworks, innovation monitoring, and performance measurement.
- Familiarity with the financial services IT landscape, including emerging technologies and innovation trends.
- Experience designing and implementing KPIs and metrics for strategy monitoring and innovation tracking.
- Advanced analytical skills with expertise in data analysis, visualization, and reporting (e.g. Proficiency in tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Excel, or other data visualization and analysis platforms).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present insights to diverse stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented mindset.
- Knowledge of frameworks such as COBIT, ITIL, or other IT governance and management standards.
- Exposure to working in global, matrixed organizations with diverse stakeholders.
- Knowledge of Agile or iterative delivery methodologies.
Qualifications
- Solid 8-10 years of experience in IT strategy, innovation, or a related role, preferably within the financial services industry
- Proven track record of aligning global, regional, and local IT strategies, with demonstrated success in Europe / EMEA / global or international levels.
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau, and Excel.
- Strong knowledge of IT governance frameworks (e.g. COBIT, ITIL) and regulatory compliance in financial services.
- Relevant Education Minimal Bachelor’s, Master’s Level Preferable
- At least one recognized certification, such as: Certified Innovation Leader (CIL) or equivalent. Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or equivalent. Certified in Project Management: Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent. ITIL Foundation Certification or similar. Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement certifications. Candidates actively pursuing certifications will also be considered.
