Program Coordinator - CDD (Remote eligible w/in Iowa)

Iowa’s Center of Excellence for Behavioral Health seeks a Program Coordinator to coordinate collaborative projects and activities that expand and sustain best practices across Iowa. This position works under the direction of the Program Manager to coordinate various aspects of CEBH’s areas of focus (behavioral health evidence-based practices, promising practices, behavioral health prevention). Responsibilities include coordinating training initiatives, collaborating with subject matter experts to support respective practices, assisting with writing and submitting of technical documents, and other duties as assigned.

Iowa’s Center of Excellence for Behavioral Health is an Iowa-based training and technical assistance center to support behavioral health service providers across the state in their delivery of evidence-based practices for adults with serious mental illness, children with serious emotional disturbances, and individuals with co-occurring conditions.

This is a specified term position with a current end date of 9/30/2025 with strong likelihood of renewed funding. This position is eligible for remote work within Iowa and will require a work arrangement form to be completed upon the start of your employment. Per policy, work arrangements will be reviewed annually, and must comply with the remote work program and related policies and employee travel policy when working at a remote location.

  • Coordinate assigned projects for Iowa’s Center of Excellence for Behavioral Health.
  • Coordinate with multiple subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure applicable practice activities are progressing.
  • Coordinate meetings including preparing agendas and meeting materials.
  • Write and/or assist with writing and editing special reports that accurately and effectively present data and key findings from periodic analyses.
  • Assist agencies providing evidence-based practices in identifying their ongoing training needs regarding developing and sustaining practices.
  • Organize and coordinate training plans in line with CEBH goals and requests.
  • Assist with overall CEBH project planning and deliverable management.
  • Meet with agency leaders to discuss progress on practice implementation and help solve problems.
  • Serve as a liaison for CEBH with project partners and stakeholders and promote collaborative working relationships.
  • Partner with Program Manager to ensure compliance with grant and program requirements.
  • Conduct exploration and policy analysis to best inform practices align with the most up-to-date information.
  • Conduct practice evaluation and quality improvement processes.
  • Manage data collection, management, and analyses processes.
  • May provide functional supervision to staff as necessary.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a human services field (social services, education, health field, psychology, public health or related human services field), or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Experience working with program evaluation and process improvement functions.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, including experience or capacity to demonstrate positive interpersonal skills and lead work teams.
  • Excellent written communication skills and experience writing technical documents.
  • Strong organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple projects and adhere to deadlines.
  • Demonstrated competency and experience using Microsoft Office software, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Ability to travel and work a flexible schedule when required.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in social work, public health, or related field highly desirable.
  • Experience developing training curriculum and/or instructional design.
  • Knowledge of behavioral health focused evidence-based practices including, but not limited to, Assertive Community Treatment, Individual Placement and Support, Suicide Prevention and Crisis.
