How will you make a different at PMI?

PMI is looking for a UX Product Designer who will be supporting the Web and eCommerce team and collaborating with cross-functional teams including Marketing broadly, IT, and Content Strategy to enhance the PMI.org user experience and position the website as a premier destination for project professionals worldwide. You will be responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of web content and user engagement strategies that support PMI’s organizational goals. Key responsibilities include optimizing web pages for user experience and search, maintaining alignment with brand and messaging guidelines, supporting new feature rollouts, and ensuring the website serves as a dynamic, accessible, and informative platform for global audiences.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Review quant and qual data to analyze user behavior down the funnel to spot opportunities to:
    • Drive sales conversion
    • Eliminate friction from pain points
    • Amplify bright spots to delight users
    • Scale successful interactions
  • Monitor engagement and conversion analytics, interrogating, diagnosing, and responding to unexpected changes
  • Plan and execute foundational research–qualitative interviews, competitive analysis, surveys, desk research–to inform content and UX ideation
  • Design prototypes to rally internal stakeholders, validate with users, or demo with developers
  • Conduct in-market A/B and multivariate testing for further optimization
  • Team up with content strategists and product marketers to design new and reimagine existing digital experiences for various business functions–marketing, ecommerce, content delivery, retention, and re-engagement
  • Design new, flexible components for the PMI digital design system to ensure visual cohesiveness and a consistent experience on all PMI’s digital properties
  • Present design concepts and solutions to stakeholders and incorporate feedback into design iterations.
  • Partner with email, social, paid media specialists to optimize the user journey across channels
  • Collaborate with Marketing, UX, and IT teams to implement and measure optimization initiatives.
  • Support technical development and content authoring processes
  • Stay current with industry trends, tools, and technologies in UX design.
  • Participate in workshops, training sessions, and other professional development opportunities.

Role Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong product design portfolio that shows both your strategic approach and novel design
  • Expertise with design and prototyping tools (We're a Figma shop)
  • Experience with user research methods, including interviews, surveys, and usability testing.
  • Experience with site analytics tools (We use Adobe Analytics, Qualtrics, and LogRocket)
  • Proficiency in search engine optimization and SEO tools
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate design decisions.
  • A collaborative mindset with a willingness to learn and grow within the team
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and practices.
  • Understanding of responsive design principles and mobile-first design.
  • Understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Understanding of headless CMS and structured content implementations
  • Prior experience with Sitecore
