Leadership - Setting goals for the team, developing organizational capability, and modeling how we work together:

  • Oversees resolution of day-to-day operations issues to ensure user, business and production requirements are met. Ensure communications and documentation of status, root cause and resolutions are provided for issues within the functional area.

Planning and Execution - Developing strategic and tactical plans for the team, managing execution, and measuring results:

  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful identity and authentication solutions.
  • Plan and manage processes to ensure delivery of a secure, scalable, and metric-driven identity platform.
  • Prepares, communicates and educates client groups and teams on changes in policies and practices within the organization.
  • Develops multi-year and annual goals, objectives and budgets for implementation, sustainment and support within the designated business areas.
  • Ensures information security system and process support documentation is created, updated and used as intended to assist with production troubleshooting and resolution.
  • Oversees testing of new system functionality and quality assurance for all information security systems fixes, enhancements, changes and implementations.

Technical Design and Implementation - Providing technical expertise and executing technical responsibilities:

  • Continuously assess and improve identity services to meet evolving security and operational needs.
  • Partner with engineering and security teams to enhance Starbucks’ identity and access capabilities.

Partner Development and Team Building - Providing partners with coaching, feedback, and building an effective team:

  • Build and lead a high-performing team that values collaboration, inclusion, and shared success.
  • Support career growth and development through mentorship and continuous feedback.

Ownership – Taking accountability for the quality and success of the outcome of your team’s work:

  • Define and maintain clear processes, procedures, and expectations for identity services.
  • Own the delivery of high-quality, secure identity services through proactive monitoring, stakeholder collaboration, and operational excellence.

We’d love to hear from people with:

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in an information technology discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on identity and access management
  • 3+ years of experience leading and developing high-performing engineering teams
  • Strong understanding of identity lifecycle management, authentication protocols, and access governance
  • Proven ability to assess and respond to cybersecurity risks and vulnerabilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Demonstrates integrity, dependability, and accountability
  • Proven ability to lead through ambiguity and drive clarity in complex environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CIPM, or others focused on cybersecurity, IAM, data privacy or information risk management.

  • If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity.
