Specialist - Private Capital

McKinsey & Company

Do you want to work on complex and pressing challenges—the kind that bring together curious, ambitious, and determined leaders who strive to become better every day? If this sounds like you, you’ve come to the right place.

Your Impact

In this role, you will have regional exposure (across geography, across industry) as well as the opportunity to build deep functional capability around due diligence and other topics related to investors.

You will grow into an expert role, leading teams on client projects including due diligences. Your career growth from there on will be to an associate partner role which will involve playing a greater leadership role within the practice.

Client project work typically includes gathering and analyzing information, formulating and testing hypotheses, and developing recommendations for presentation to client management. From there, you will implement those recommendations with client team members. You will work across other private equity/investor engagements including portfolio companies, firm strategy/organization and market scans.

You will be based in our Osaka or Tokyo office in Japan as part of our Private Capital (PC) practice. You will be an integral part of a client service team that serves a cluster of PC clients. You will work with analysts and engagement managers on project teams to drive client insights – including on due diligence, portfolio engagements and other client-based efforts.

You will join a firm that will challenge you and invest heavily in your professional development. You will have the opportunity to work on teams and help the best organizations in the world – across the private, public and social sectors – solve some of their most difficult problems.

Your Growth

Driving lasting impact and building long-term capabilities with our clients is not easy work. You are the kind of person who thrives in a high performance/high reward culture - doing hard things, picking yourself up when you stumble, and having the resilience to try another way forward.

Your colleagues—at all levels—will invest deeply in your development, just as much as they invest in delivering exceptional results for clients.
