Summary:
Develops, maintains and performs statistical analysis of billing and payments utilizing manual and computerized systems. Assures contract compliance and serves as departmental technical resource person for managed care contracts on billing, payment and registration issues. Develops and maintains training manual information for trainers on HMO/PPO contracts.
Minimum Qualifications:
1.Associate Degree in Business, Accounting, or closely related field of study.
2.Two (2) years health care financial services experience utilizing a variety of PC software (i.e., word processing, database, and spreadsheet applications) to include one (1) year managed care contract experience.
3.Additional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement.
4.Ability to pass Contract Payment Analyst Test; Administered by Human Resources
5.Ability to pass Basic Excel Test with a passing score of 70%
Special Characteristics:
1.Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with those contacted in the course of work.
2.Ability to operate business office equipment.
3.Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information and financial records.
4.Analytical skills required for patient account resolution.
5.Ability to make good decisions, think independently, and work as a team player.
6.Knowledge of hospital accounting procedures, computers, EDI, and other equipment used in the patient financial services area. Diverse knowledge and experience in utilizing standardized PC software.
7.Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity.
8.Assumes accountability for demonstrated behaviors consistent with the customer service policy.

The salary range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials. Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay.
