Employee Relations Manager focused on Digital Transformation and Labor Relations

You will play a key role in ensuring these types of initiatives are socialized with our Works Councils across Europe, focused primarily on the Netherlands and Germany. You’ll lead the entire project lifecycle from start to finish, from preliminary intake all the way to final approvals. In this role, you’ll partner closely with Data Privacy, HR Business Partners, Works Councils, and business leaders across Europe – offering an excellent opportunity to gain comprehensive business knowledge and build a strong, visible network across the organization.

WHAT THE ROLE OFFERS

  • An opportunity to shape the future of work at OpenText by leading and facilitating the implementation of technology with employee consultation bodies. With a particular focus on AI and Automation tools with a strong focus on ensuring implementation of tools are fully in compliance with GDPR and Data Privacy standards, you will act as primary liaison for Netherlands and Germany Works Council discussions that involve negotiating and consulting with employee representatives on the introduction of new technology—with a focus on data privacy and ensuring that all technological advancements are introduced transparently and in accordance with labor laws.
  • Design and deliver engaging enablement sessions to educate business leaders and their teams on key Labour Relations principles and practices.
  • Deliver strategic, high-visibility updates on Works Council initiatives to senior leaders, including the VP of HR and functional HR Business Partners, ensuring alignment and informed decision-making at the executive level.
  • Partner closely with the HR Business Partner community in Europe to align on roles and responsibilities, foster cross-functional synergies, and deliver effective internal communications.
  • Collaborate with the Labour Relations Director to support the execution of strategic corporate initiatives across Europe, including Learning & Development programs and Organizational Effectiveness efforts that drive business performance.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • A bachelor’s degree in human resources, Law, or a related field with a minimum of 8 years of experience working in Human Resources or a related field (experience with Labour Relations is preferred)
  • To be successful, you will have exceptional communication skills and a proven ability to manage the entire intake process for new technology initiatives, with the ability to drive effective partnering with key stakeholders from business leaders, Data Privacy team, HR Business Partners and relevant Works Council members
  • Experience with managing Work Councils, preferably in the Netherlands or Germany as well as negotiating working agreements and contracts
  • Strong business acumen with a track record of driving results in large organizations
  • Strong project management skills, demonstrating expertise in leading cross-functional projects, focusing on stakeholder alignment and timeline delivery
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with a proven ability to navigate sensitive situations and mediate conflicts with professionalism and empathy
  • Fluency in English and Dutch is mandatory, and good knowledge of the German language is considered beneficial
