Role & Responsibilities:

  • Supervises the activities of the Imaging Department. Communicates and collaborates daily with Imaging Managers to resolve issues and create consistency among all shifts.
  • Performs duties of a diagnostic radiology technologist as needed.

Location & Schedule:

Children's WI Hospital | Milwaukee Main Campus

Schedule: 4 x 10 hours shifts (14:30 - 01:00)

  • Alternating: Monday - Thursday and then Tuesday - Friday the following week.
  • No Weekends, No Holiday, No On-Call

Education, License, & Certification:

  • Knowledge of diagnostic radiology principles and procedures as well as operation and maintenance of imaging equipment acquired through completion of an approved curriculum of: Radiologic Technology and registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Medical Sonographer and registration by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) required
  • Current CPR certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart or American Red Cross is required.
  • Medical Sonographer and registration by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Radiologic Technology and registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required

Experience & Skills

  • Two years of experience as a technologist in order to obtain knowledge of policies and procedures and proficiency in performing technical imaging work required
  • Leadership experience preferred.
  • Exhibits guiding behaviors that reflect Children's values and support our mission and vision
  • Understands and satisfies the needs of the neonatal, pediatric, adolescent and adult patient in regards to their growth and development process.
  • Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with parents, physicians, and other department personnel and coworkers in order to ensure quality patient care and present positive department and interdepartmental cooperation.
  • Analytical skills to make independent decisions when dealing with complex equipment, sedation of patients, critical care patients and so forth.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Provides services in a setting where there is potential for exposure to blood and other high risk body fluids, chemotherapy agents, communicable disease and hazardous materials, chemicals, and waste.
  • Ability to lift and position patients as well as stand, walk.
  • Must be able to walk, stand for long periods, wearing protective equipment weighing 10-15 pounds over 80% of the assigned work period, as well as lift and position patients weighing up to 150 pounds.
  • Provides services in a patient care environment with occasional exposure to patients with possible infectious diseases. Minimal exposure to radiation with little or no chance of injury when established safety procedures are followed
