Position Summary

The Innovation Engineering Associate is responsible for supporting both manpower shortages and process innovation for the most critical line(s). Supports associates on Assy Base lines, and work stations within these locations, by following proper work procedures according to Area leader / Supervisor directions. Physically supports repairing washing machines and equipment.

Role and Responsibilities

Level 2 and above should be able to perform the tasks and meet the basic requirements for the previous level.

Level 1

  • Perform daily tasks to verify and follow-up on quality standards & rules
  • Perform daily tasks to support / cover main line manpower shortages
  • Support repair deck / buffer build
  • Cover temporary vacancies due to absentees
  • Support trouble shooting on the main/sub line
  • Support Engineering Team members in their works (Part Approval, CR Registration, and machine maintenance)
  • Support Washing Machine Rework
  • Part Inspection by using proper tools
  • Report all findings to the team members
  • Support Washing Machine SET and Material Shipment
  • All other duties as assigned

Level 2

  • Collaborate with Production and Engineering to implement, optimize, and troubleshoot test loops used on the during production line to validate product quality, safety, and functional performance of new equipment/parts in critical function areas.
  • Recommend revised standards, policies, and procedures related to development and engineering
  • Troubleshoot PCs, monitors and equipment directly tied to production line performance
  • Submit Part Approval
  • Register CR & ECO
  • Recommend work instruction
  • All other duties as assigned

Level 3

  • Troubleshoot PCs, monitors and equipment (i.e. scanner, sensor, Q-eye) directly tied to production line performance
  • Assist with making work instructions for each work station
  • Monitor critical machine functions to ensure quality and process are correctly followed
  • Implement projects focused on quality, safety, and productivity throughout product lifecycle.
  • Apply quality standards to vision inspection software to prevent process defects & market defects
  • Theme card summary for Defect/Trouble with Root cause Analysis & Countermeasure suggestion
  • All other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications

1. Education and experience: Each level requires a High School Diploma or its equivalent along with a minimum of 1-3 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.

  • Level 1: 1 year of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment required.
  • Level 2: 2 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment required.
  • Level 3: 3 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment required.

2. Knowledge:

+ Understand the assembly process

+ Know how to use mechanical/electrical tools

+ Must be able to speak, read, and write English

3. Skills:

+ Trouble shooting, multi-tasking, screwing, cutting, assembling

+ Ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions

+ The ability to work on a team of co-workers in close proximity to each other

+ The ability to make timely decisions and provide feedback to others

+ Have a strong desire for personal and professional development

4. Physical requirement:

+ The ability to stand up for 8 - 10 hours a day required

+ The ability to bend, stoop, grip, reach and lift up to 35 lbs. on a repetitive basis

+ The ability to work with components that are in constant motion along an assembly line without adverse effects

+ Need to be able to work in a fast paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work, and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment
