QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree or higher from a recognized, accredited college or university;
  • Certification in special education;
  • Valid Texas Administrator's certification;
  • Minimum of four (4) years of successful experience as a classroom teacher;
  • Demonstrated skill in leading, motivating, and cooperating with others

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Probationary/Term Contract: 193 days

SALARY:

$64,968 (IA-3)

Salary Range (based on experience) as set by the Board of Trustees

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Collaborate with general and special education teachers, school administrators, and parents to provide educational support for students with disabilities.
  2. Serve as a liaison between the campus and district.
  3. Provide technical assistance to instructional sta? concerning the teaching/learning process.
  4. Mentor teachers in implementing individual student accommodations and modi?cations as designed by IEP committees.
  5. Collaborate with teachers and assistant principals in designing e?ective behavioral and academic interventions for students.
  6. Schedule sta?ngs to support and resolve student, teacher, or parental concerns.
  7. Serve as an administrative representative for IEP meetings, as requested by the campus principal.
  8. Assist with organizing the state assessment process for students receiving special education services.
  9. Monitor progress of the implementation of the STAAR-Alternate.
  10. Attend regularly scheduled special education sta? meetings.
  11. Keep abreast of current issues and methodologies on programming models in educating students with disabilities.
  12. Collect data on student progress and ensure data is reflected in online data management system as required.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned
  14. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.
