Job Description

This position is located in the Greater Cleveland, OH, area at the Warrensville Technical Center (moving to the Brecksville Technical Center) supporting the Performance Coatings Group (PCG) Design Quality organization. This high exposure position will interact with and influence Quality, Technical, Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, Accounting, and Sales teams and will be responsible for leading continuous improvement initiatives within the organization to enhance efficiency, quality, and performance. The incumbent will lead high impact global Process Excellence projects to meet the business needs of strategic customers, support and lead strategic continuous improvement projects, and help identify key areas of opportunity for the business. Specifically, this individual will play a crucial role in the standardization, execution, and application of successful transfer process activities of new products and technologies from one part of the organization to another.

Responsibilities

  • Lead PCG Quality strategic process initiatives focusing on the growth and application of the standardized global Product & Technical Transfer process
  • Manage team of Process Excellence Analysts working closely with global cross-functional teams, including operations, quality, and IT, to ensure alignment and successful implementation of process improvements.
    • Maintain project and resource alignment and provide consolidated status reports and documentation
    • Identify and manage key milestones, success criteria, and metrics in conjunction with project leadership
    • Coordinate support requests and project intake for the team, and identify prioritization matrix for resource application
    • Communicate with Divisional Executive Teams on strategic progress and projects
    • Support or lead complex transfer projects in alignment with companywide asset optimization goals, where needed
  • Recommend and develop best practices, techniques and tools for continued process excellence related to planning, executing, tracking, communication, training, and key performance metrics
  • Drive Quality discipline and CI execution through large scale process improvements, especially related to technical and product transfers
  • Provide ongoing Quality leadership globally that may include, but is not limited to:
  1. Identification and execution of continuous improvement projects and opportunities that align with business / functional goals and strategies, so as to eliminate inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and poor quality.
  2. Communication with key stakeholders as needed to drive Quality process initiatives and ensure the highest level of quality and service to all customers.
  3. Capturing of lessons learned and process discipline across programs, building relationships with stakeholders and brokering relationships at all levels
  4. Organizational influence by initiating and driving change and process improvement through all levels of leadership
  • Advise cross-functional management in the understanding of process improvement and product transfer methodologies to deliver quantifiable performance improvement and build a culture of continuous improvement
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of process improvements, using key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and impact.

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country for which you are applying for employment (without now or in the future needing sponsorship for employment work visa and/or permanent residence status).
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math field.
  • Fundamental knowledge of formula technology, including underlying concepts, theories, and principles
  • Significant experience coordinating resources and communicating with cross-functional stakeholders, including executives
  • Knowledge of project planning, scheduling and monitoring tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make data-driven decisions.
  • 8+ years of significant experience in one, or more of the following fields: Operations (quality, supply chain, manufacturing, engineering and procurement), technical (R&D), and related support IT systems
  • Experience in process improvement, project management, or a related field, with a track record of successful process optimization projects
  • Experience with change management and process implementation
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams, driving a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in business, science (such as engineering or chemistry) or technology field
  • Relevant certification (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.)
  • Experience managing large or complex multi-functional and multi-divisional projects, including continuous improvement projects and product or technology transfers
  • Working knowledge of process improvement principles, techniques, tools and software, such as Six Sigma, Lean, DFSS and/or project management software.
  • Best of Breed systems knowledge (e.g., Business Objects, Discovery, Product Vision, OBIEE, MES, Tableau)

Travel Requirements: Up to 20% Domestic and International

Upon completion of construction, the individual selected for this role will primarily work at the new Sherwin-Williams Global Technology Center in Brecksville, Ohio. Construction is expected to be complete in 2025. Until then, the role will be based at Warrensville Technology Center, located at 4440 Warrensville Center Road, Warrensville Hts, OH 44128.
