Job Title: Shop Helper

This position will be working in the shop assisting delivery drivers and various managers and project managers on items needed for job sites, as well as maintaining cleanliness and organization of the shop and surrounding area.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Monitor the entire perimeter for any objects, trash, debris, etc. that require picking up.
  • When needed, clear sidewalks of any ice / snow and spread salt when needed.
  • Keep any steps and walkways clear at all times.
  • Monitor and keep the shop / shop yard clean of all debris.
  • Inspect exterior buildings for any damage that may require fixing; i.e. windows, doors, drains, gutters, etc.) and report to Branch Manager and complete an inspection form if need be.
  • Empty trash cans in all areas of the buildings.
  • Collect and break down all boxes throughout the buildings.
  • Monitor and inventory building items, i.e. cleaning supplies, toiletries, etc.
  • Maintain warehouse with sweeping compound on a weekly basis.
  • Maintain stairwells on a weekly basis.
  • Complete any additional projects provided by Branch Manager.

Qualifications:

Education / Work Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • 2+ years’ of related work experience is required.
  • Vocational or industry trade school is a plus.
  • Previous experience operating a forklift is required.
  • Able to lift a minimum of 75 pounds is required.

Computer Skills:

  • Average experience with Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel) applications required.
