Position Summary
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Operations to lead and oversee all aspects of supply chain operations, including demand planning, procurement, and logistics for Mountain Manufacturing. This leadership role will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to optimize supply chain performance, ensure on-time production, and reduce cost while maintaining the highest standards of quality and customer service.
You will play a critical role in ensuring the seamless flow of materials and products, from suppliers to production to customer delivery, while supporting our commitment to quality, food safety, and operational excellence. This role is on-site with periodic travel to suppliers or other company sites as needed.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Strategic Leadership
- Lead the design and implementation of supply chain improvements, focusing on efficiency, appropriate inventory levels, and waste reduction.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in supply chain processes using lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive supply chain strategy aligned with business goals and manufacturing requirements.
- Set and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for supply chain functions.
- Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
Demand Planning & Forecasting
- Lead the demand planning process, integrating market intelligence, customer orders, and historical data to develop accurate forecasts.
- Balance inventory levels to meet demand while minimizing obsolescence and spoilage, especially for perishable ingredients and products.
- Coordinate S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) meetings and ensure alignment across departments.
- Monitor market trends and customer demand to proactively adjust supply plans.
- Manage risk by developing sourcing alternatives and contingency plans.
- Utilize inventory management to maintain appropriate levels of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
Logistics & Distribution
- Optimize logistics network for efficiency, cost, and service level.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing facilities on inbound and outbound logistics, transportation, and warehouse operations.
Budgeting & Cost Control
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive initiatives to reduce supply chain expenses without compromising quality or service.
- Optimize inventory management processes to support just-in-time production and reduce write-offs due to shelf-life expiration.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field
- 10+ years of progressive experience in supply chain roles within a manufacturing environment/industry
- Proven leadership experience managing teams across demand planning, procurement, logistics, and supply chain operations
- Working knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and strong Excel skills
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
