Summary:

The main function is to analyze science, engineering, business and all other data processing problems for application to electronic data processing systems. A typical business systems analyst is responsible for analyzing user requirements, procedures and problems to automate or improve existing systems and review computer system capabilities, workflow and scheduling limitations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Gather requirements from business units and translate those to programmers and developers.
  • Confer with clients regarding the nature of the information processing or computation needs.
  • Prepare cost-benefit and return-on-investment analyses to aid in decisions on system implementation.
  • Interview or survey workers, observe job performance or perform the job to determine what information is processed and how it is processed.
  • Coordinate and link the computer systems within an organization to increase compatibility and so information can be shared.
  • Consult with management to ensure agreement on system principles.
  • Expand or modify system to serve new purposes or improve work flow.

Skills:

  • Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, attention to detail and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage ones time.
  • Basic mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.
  • Knowledge of design techniques and principles involved in production of drawings and models.
  • Knowledge of computer software, such as Visual Basic, Java, SQL, etc.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required or equivalent work experience required. MBA or other related advanced degree preferred.
  • 6-8 years experience required.

Position Location: PNC Tech Hub

Provide locations/flexible work by preference: 1. Pittsburgh PA - Two PNC Plaza ONLY *the manager is not looking to source out of any other hubs at this time*

Ability to work remote: Hybrid - 3 days in office, 2 remote

Acceptable time zone(s): EST

Days of the week: Mon-Fri, 40 hours

Working Hours (Flexible): 8-5pm EST core hours

OT: Occasional (once a month) weekend releases

Travel: No

Start Date: 6/23/2025

Intended length of Assignment: 6/23/2025 - 2/28/2026

Reason for open position: Additional headcount

Potential for Contract Extension: Yes

Initiatives/Projects: Onshore BSA for PGP Global Payments / PINACLE Modernization.

Industry background: Open to all backgrounds but banking/financial is a plus. Technical background required.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Gather technical software requirements for development of a new angular web application related to payments

Writing requirements in Jira as Agile User Stories

Collaborating with the business to define functionality

Coordinating with developers to clarify questions

Looking for a technically-oriented BSA, experienced in Agile software development, experienced in handling XML / SOAP and JSON / REST data formats and documentation of APIs.

Level 3: 4-6 YRS

Must Have Technical Skills:

Agile Software Development

XML/SOAP

JSON/REST data formats

Documentation of APIs

Flex Skills/Nice to Have:

SQL

Java

Education/Certifications:

Experience in lieu of education

No certs

Role Differentiator: Part of a large Agile team which is building new applications from the ground up with the newest technology. Apart of a team working with new angular work and development, brand new application
