Job Overview:

The Support Shift Lead SSL will be a day-to-day shift lead that is accountable for the daily maintenance work schedule, planned and unplanned for the maintenance on the shift. The Shift Support Lead is a member of the maintenance (process & packaging) support and will allocate approximately 3 hours of the shift to plan, document, prioritize and communicate maintenance plans for the 12-hour shift. The SSL will be responsible for collaborating with the Shift Supervisor and providing effective turnovers/hand-offs at shift change.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary to include weekends.
  • Background in a manufacturing environment or technical background with a strong electrical, skills set mechanical or automation experience.
  • Effective communication and people skills in leading a team.

Compensation & Benefit Overview:

  • Pay Range $29.48 – $38.59

Work Schedule:

  • Each shift will have one Shift Support Lead that works the 4x4 schedule and rotates with the shift.
  • Works overtime as required.
  • Flexibility to adjust shift schedule to collaborate with employees on other shifts as required.
  • May be required to work during plant shutdowns.

Job Overview:

The Shift Support Lead is a member of the maintenance (process & packaging) support. Approximately 3 hours of the shift will be allocated to plan, document, prioritize and communicate maintenance plans for the 12-hour shift. The SSL will be responsible for collaborating with the Shift Supervisor.

Responsibilities & Duties include but are not limited to:

  • The SSL will be responsible for the documentation of the shift that they are responsible for. All documentation will need to be completed by Shift Support Techs (both packaging and process) prior to the end of shift and entered the SAP system.
  • The SSL will be responsible for the daily execution of the maintenance plan, both the scheduled 52-week plan and other planned events that are scheduled.
  • The SSL will be responsible for the execution of emergent work and urgent work needed to keep the facility running.
  • The SSL will be responsible for the shift turnover (hand-off) to the next SSL.
  • The SSL will be responsible for meeting with the shift Supervisors daily for any activity they may have to support that is not planned work. The SSL will also keep the shift supervisor up to date on the planned work schedule, along with any issues that could cause disruption in the daily flow of production. Example issues would be (but not limited to) shortage of staff, unable to meet scheduled work requirements, personal issues that would need supervisor support.
  • The SSL will have approx. 3 hours of unscheduled work to have the ability to execute the additional responsibilities required of the SSL role.
  • All equipment issues and escalations will need to be sent to the SSL as they will know where the rest of the support crews are located and how to allocate the work. All breakdowns that need maintenance support will be addressed on the shift and communicated through the SSL and shift supervisor. If anything needs to get escalated further, they will follow the escalation procedures.
  • The SSL will send out communication to the Maintenance Lead, Maintenance Manager, and the other SSL on each shift to ensure a good day-to-day communication chain, which is going to help with the daily events that happen on each shift. The shift turnover/hand-off communication will be completed at the end of the shift.
  • The SSL will be responsible for the scheduled training of the new techs along with managing their time to be with a trainer based on the daily schedule. All training will be scheduled in advance so we can make sure the individuals being trained can work with the SME and outside training platforms.
  • Responsible to observe and sign off the training for everyone on the PFP/PFS matrix.
  • Responsible for giving recommendations to the Maintenance Lead on the training and skills for everyone that is training on the shift.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
