Job Summary:

The Civil Structural Inspector is responsible for evaluating the structural integrity of bridges and other related structures. This role requires expertise in engineering principles and a keen eye for detail to ensure compliance with relevant building codes, specifications, and safety regulations. Ideal candidates will possess a strong background in civil engineering or a related field, along with experience in conducting thorough inspections and assessments. Key skills include analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication, making this position critical for maintaining transportation safety and infrastructure reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive inspections of bridges and related structures to assess their condition and safety.
  • Utilize engineering skills to evaluate structural soundness and identify potential defects or areas of concern.
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports, documenting findings and recommendations for maintenance or repairs.
  • Ensure adherence to building codes, regulations, and safety standards during inspections.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to develop solutions for identified structural issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, including photographs and test results.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to bridge inspection and maintenance.
  • Participate in training and professional development to enhance technical skills and knowledge.

Here's what you'll need

Qualifications:

Bachelor Degree in Civil, or Structural Engineering with minimum 5 years related construction supervision experience.

Or Diploma in Civil, or Structural Engineering with minimum 8 years related construction supervision experience.

Project experience in BRIDGES and/or UNDERPASS structures are mandatory.

Preferably with related work experience in GCC in an engineering consulting firm.

Skills:

Knowledge and experience using computer software.

Good oral and written communication skills.

Ability to communicate logically and clearly with management and staff.
