This role can have a Hybrid or Remote work arrangement. Candidates who live near one of our office locations (Hartford, CT) will have the expectation of working in an office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday). Candidates who do not live near an office will have a remote work arrangement, with the expectation of coming into an office as business needs arise.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Product Compliance, Employee Benefits to join our team. This role provides overall product compliance support for our Leave Management service offering. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Leave compliance, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to manage complex projects and priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct environmental scanning and assess the impact of new federal, state, county, and municipal leave laws, rules, and ordinances on the company's leave management service offering.
  • Manage related implementation and corrective action plans as needed.
  • Support our Leave Management Product Team with general compliance consulting.
  • Provide thought leadership to customers regarding developments in the leave mandate landscape.
  • Create and distribute periodic newsletters on leave mandate developments.
  • Support the AVP, Product Compliance by providing other support regarding the company’s group life and disability product offerings as needed

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in leave compliance.
  • Knowledge of the group insurance industry, with experience in group life, disability, and voluntary products preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree required.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to distill complex information and present it to all levels of the organization is a digestible fashion.
  • Ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities.
  • Comfort with ambiguity.

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$102,400 - $153,600
