The Client Facing Event Manager for Global Banking and Markets will bring investment banking corporate clients together with investors and strategic partners in one-on-one meeting formats at investment banking hosted events. This manager will partner with various divisions of Goldman Sachs, including Investment Banking / Equity Capital Markets, and Equity Sales, and serve as our corporate clients’ point of connectivity to the investor community at client-facing events.
Location: This role will be based in the Goldman Sachs office in Dallas, TX
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Associate, ensuring seamless service and maintaining the high standards of our client engagements. You will play a crucial role in planning our investment banking events that include investors and one-on-one meetings. Your primary responsibility will be to work with the senior banker event hosts to ensure the smooth and efficient execution of the one-on-one meetings at the events, while maintaining a high level of professionalism and client service.
Responsibilities:
- Understand and execute prioritization strategy for driving high value one-on-one meetings at investment banking client events
- Member of the conference planning team on four to six US-based conferences per year hosted by Investment Banking
- Oversee & execute all steps of planning a conference, including logistics (when applicable) & work closely with internal teams (Event Management, Investment Banking / ECM and Equity Sales) on Conference-related tasks/execution
- Allocate and coordinate complex meetings between corporate, investing and strategic clients at Conferences via a single Events platform
- Maintain direct contact with investing clients (Mutual funds, Venture Capital, Private Equity and Strategics) and corporate managements (US and int’l) on meeting allocations
- Execute pre-conference planning calls with priority investment banking clients; provide bespoke reporting/data upon request
- Collaborate with senior Investment Banking professionals to prioritize and service corporate clients
- Respond to and follow up on client requests/schedule changes via relationship bankers or direct communication
- Handle a high volume of emails, phones calls, supporting internal and external clients
- Educate both internal (investment banking) and external (corporates, investors) counterparties on utilizing the online scheduling platform
- Work closely with internal project management team and external vendor to document issues, suggest & implement enhancements to existing technology
- Domestic travel required for 3-4 conferences a year
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the financial services industry, preferably with exposure to corporate clients or investor relations.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and quality.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and experience with CRM software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Flexibility to travel and work outside of regular business hours as needed.
