Career Opportunity:

Smurfit Westrock is seeking Scale Administrator at the Solvay, NY papermill. In this role you will be a member of the Operations team with direct support to the Logistics team.

Pay Rate: $26.49 per hour

How you will impact WestRock:

• Timely and accurate processing of Inbound Scale transactions, including scaling trucks for inbound and assigning to correct location.
• Continuous communication with all Warehouse Techs and Spotters to assure efficient flow of traffic and material.
• Maintain communication with Logistics/Fiber Procurement department.
• Provide Direction to drivers at check station.
• Understand & comply with all Safety, Warehouse and ISO Procedures.
• Process Waste Management & Syracuse Energy non release number transactions, manually and in the IQE system.
• Daily entries to Scale Administrator logbook.
• Ensure correct distribution of Outbound BOLs to Solvay Designated Carrier and other drivers.

What you need to succeed:

• High school diploma or equivalent and previous work experience.
• Experience in a trucking or transportation environment preferred.
• Experience in shift work to include nights & weekends in a fast pace atmosphere.
• Safety and quality-conscious work habits.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail and organization with ability to accurately file documentation
• Experience with Windows & Excel.
• Ability to open pneumatic tube canisters.
• Effective interpersonal and team skills.
• Ability to multitask & prioritize daily activity to completion.
