Job Details:

Position Summary: The Safety Supervisor is responsible for overseeing site safety programs and ensuring compliance with company policies and the Safety Management System. Key duties include maintaining records, developing proactive accident prevention programs, and preparing technical reports. This role involves conducting safety inspections, training, and ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations. The Safety Supervisor will provide safety statistics and analysis to the plant leadership team and communicate results to the workforce. This position reports to the Safety Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and facilitate training in areas such as ergonomics, emergency response, lockout/tagout, and hazard communications.
  • Identify potential hazards and propose safe work practices to leadership teams.
  • Provide expertise on hazard identification and risk mitigation processes.
  • Advise on city, state, and federal compliance regulations.
  • Evaluate hazardous conditions and practices in the workplace.
  • Conduct on-site inspections to audit physical conditions and safe work practices.
  • Implement controls based on hazard analysis results.
  • Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of hazard control systems, policies, and procedures, and recommend changes.
  • Conduct specialized safety training programs.
  • Assist in new employee safety and environmental orientation.
  • Perform other related duties as directed.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate's Degree in safety or related engineering discipline preferred.
  • Experience: 2 years of safety experience preferred. Familiarity with state or local environmental laws. Food safety knowledge is a plus.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to monitor performance trends using leading and lagging indicators.
  • Communication Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and data management. Effective verbal and written communication skills to present ideas to diverse audiences.
