GENERAL SUMMARY

Under general direction of the Sr System Integration Manager, supports implementation of valued solutions and supports DFW Airport in furthering the use of technology and process improvement. The System Integration Developer's role is to research, plan, develop and integrate new or upgraded technology and systems that are in alignment with the long-range strategic goals and objectives. The System Integration Developer develops integration applications using languages such as Java, PHP, .NET, Perl etc. There will be a need to perform Data modeling, UNIX shell scripting and DB Administration tasks.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops and maintains smooth operational integration between various airport systems.
  • Manages integration development throughout their lifecycle utilizing the System Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Plans, organizes, and manages the development, operation, and maintenance of various control systems to meet the Board’s information technology strategic plan.
  • Performs installation, configuration, monitoring and tuning of the Interface exchange layer applications and various components.
  • Troubleshoots data and application issues related to application data fed from multiple sources.
  • Develops new interfaces for the Airport Operational Database using PLSQL/Java/PHP/Perl/Unix Shell Scripting/C#.NET etc.
  • Deploys interfaces to various environments (development, test and production) and performs validation at each stage.
  • Supports the Long-Term Database and assists with creating dashboards and reports to analyze flight and resource utilization patterns.
  • Regularly adds to the knowledge repository and creates appropriate design and support documentation.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field of study or five (5) years’ work experience.
  • Five (5) years of IT experience, including development, database management with emphasis on knowledge of Oracle database technology, including at least five (5) years' experience in system administration working with application servers such as Apache Tomcat, JBOSS, Oracle WebLogic Application Server, etc., including development experience with JMS messaging, MQ message brokers and ESBs, message routing and SOA concepts.
  • Proven experience driving or promoting a service delivery model.
  • Possession of a valid Class C driver's license.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of networking systems, database systems, and related terminology/practices.
  • Knowledge of UNIX shell scripting, proficiency with PL/SQL
  • Knowledge of application development and development languages - PHP, Java, C#, etc.
  • Knowledge of internet web-services, XML/XSL/XSLT/XSD and API development.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform data modeling and to create Entity Relationship diagrams.
  • Ability to work with user departments and technical consultants to identify needs, advise on hardware/software capabilities, train system users and resolve operating problems.
  • Ability to install, upgrade, and configure UNIX operating system software, Oracle database and related patches
  • Ability to self-motivate and independently manage basic application, database and system administration projects.
  • Ability to respond to emergency situations at irregular hours via pager or other department-defined method.
  • Experience in all phases of SDLC (system development lifecycle) and information lifecycle.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, at all levels within and outside the organization.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships inside and outside the organization.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must obtain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Airport Identification/Access Badge (badge) in accordance with Department of Homeland Security Transportation Security Administration (TSA) requirements in Chapter 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 1500 et al., and DFW Airport’s Airport Security Program within thirty (30) days from date of employment and maintain qualification for a SIDA badge upon each badge renewal.

DESIRABLE

  • Experience with Airport Systems, knowledge of Aviation concepts and terminology, AIDX standard
  • Experience with writing and deploying rules in a commercial Rules Engine.
  • Experience with various Web servers
  • Certifications in application development, database or system administration.
  • Experience with Agile/SCRUM methodologies.
  • Some experience with Business Intelligence, ETL tools such as Informatica, creating dashboards/reports using tools such as Crystal Reports, Microstrategy, etc.
  • Experience with Oracle BPEL.
  • Master’s Degree preferred.
