Qualifications:

  1. Master’s degree or higher from a recognized, accredited college or university.
  2. Valid Texas administrator’s certificate.
  3. Five years of experience as a principal in public schools.
  4. Five years administrative or supervisory experience at the district level.
  5. Exemplifies instructional leadership, personal scholarship, a collaborative leadership style, personal integrity, strong interpersonal skills, effective communication skills; and
  6. Visionary leader in public schools to work collaboratively with district leadership, principals, and community members to support the preparation of learners for the 21st

Terms of Employment:

Probationary/Term Contract: 250 days

Salary:

Salary Range (based on experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year 2025-2026.

Essential Functions:

  1. Provide leadership, coaching, and support for principals.
  2. Supervise and evaluate principals.
  3. Lead the selection process for principals.
  4. Provide leadership and support for the district’s leadership development initiatives including the coaching and mentoring programs for new principals.
  5. Provide leadership and support to the guidance and counseling, health services, professional learning, and school leadership departments.
  6. Process concerns expressed by parents, patrons, and personnel.
  7. Communicate and collaborate with the Cabinet in managing and leading the district and making recommendations to the superintendent.
  8. Review and recommend to the superintendent appropriate policies, administrative regulations, and administrative practices.
  9. Implement the policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local Board policy in the areas assigned.
  10. Recruit, train, and supervise department staff and make sound recommendations relative to placement, assignment, retention, discipline, and termination.
  11. Ensure the department operations contribute to the attainment of the district goals and objectives.
  12. Analyze budget and staffing needs for the departments assigned and ensure funds are managed effectively.
  13. Attend campus and district events.
  14. Manage professional learning opportunities for department staff to enhance the effectiveness of department operations.
  15. Enhance communication and collaboration with other central office administrators.
