We are seeking an experienced and detailed-oriented Credit Management Manager (CM) to join our team at MUFG Bank, Seoul branch. CM is an extracting core credit management and risk leadership in the front office functions to a specific front office team in MUFG Seoul Branch. CM will be essential to the efficient and effective leadership of credit risk management and escalation in the front office and provides full support to our Global Corporate and Investment Banking Business Group Coverage and Sector Coverage functions, whilst working alongside various teams in APAC region on effective task allocation. This role is an important role with accountability on the credit process in support or origination efforts within Global Corporate Korea and ongoing monitoring, by leveraging the internal teams with support from Coverage and Product.

What you will be doing(R&R):

  • Support the Department Head in day-to-day credit management processes for office. It aims to help identify emerging risks, themes and opportunities which may warrant additional attention / action by key stakeholders – ultimately to drive better risk and return outcomes for the Bank.
  • Corporate with Risk teams and Credit Managed Asset Department as credit quality remains a core focus that underpins our strategy & soundness but also our growth.
  • Support senior bankers in exploring financial solutions for existing/prospect clients by understanding client profiles / requirements as well as bank’s product capacity.
  • Support portfolio construction to ensure we bank the right clients and sectors as part of our local & regional growth plans, consistent with risk appetite and credit strategy of the bank.
  • Support Coverage through risk management activities to help identify emerging risks, themes and opportunities which may warrant additional attention / action by key stakeholders – ultimately to drive better risk and return outcomes for the Bank.
  • End to end credit preparation, review, and completion of core credit process.
  • Identity RWA fixes and implement by counterparty issue including direction to MGS as required.

What we are looking for (Qualification):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Business administration or Economics major preferred (not mandatory)
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in corporate banking and general credit analysis experience
  • Excellent communication skills both in verbal and written English/Korean.
  • Leading Local/regional Projects experience (such as Establish/ improve necessary frameworks, templates, service standards) are highly preferred.
  • Continue to drive the change agenda through standardization, efficiency gains, policy adjustments.
  • Support Managing Director in driving the change agenda and MGS engagement. Help identify, monitor, and manage concerns as they arise, including seeking advice and/or action from in-country Coverage, ICD, SFCO, etc.
  • Strong credit analysis experience in corporate finance transactions and moderate experience in structured lending.
  • Strong mathematical knowledge, strong financial analysis acumen, credit writing, legal documentation, and debt structuring.
