As our Learning Management System Coordinator, you will be responsible for the management of the LMS (Learning Management System), training records, and training material at the Irving Oil Refinery. Your goal will be to play a key role in onboarding our Facilities Technicians and ensuring our new hires have a successful start to their careers with Irving Oil. Your success will be determined by your ability to collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders (including Innovatia, Department Managers, Area Trainers, and the Training Department Manager), manage multiple priorities, and build strong relationships.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop the Learning Management System to ensure it will provide the training needs and record retention required for all areas of the Refinery as well as multiple groups across IOC and IOO
  • Manage audits of the Learning Management system focusing on reliability, compliance, stakeholder requirements, record retention and fulfillment of training needs
  • Create and provide reports as requested by Area Trainers, Refinery Management, IOC and IOO including the training required, completed and expired
  • Manage new training materials, or changes to existing material, and ensure they are loaded into Documentum with a focus on the proper approval processes having been followed
  • Manage, create, develop and maintain the Learning Management System processes and ensure they are adhered to
  • Manage access to the Learning Management System to ensure all the appropriate users are equipped to utilize the system and are informed of all training required at least 30 days before expiration
  • Provide the necessary training materials needed for all operations personnel
  • Coordinate with outside sources in the development and maintaining of training materials
  • Manage onboarding, logistics, and auditing of training content for new employees in both the Refinery Basic Training and Co-op programs

Your Skills

  • Adaptable to changing work and regulatory environments
  • Collaborating on projects both within departments across the organization and with outside resources
  • Managing multiple tasks within group and through collaborating with others
  • Ability to prioritize as demand requires

Your Experience

  • Minimum 5 years experience managing compliance systems and managing training/learning systems
  • Post secondary education considered an asset
