What Will You Be Doing?

The Manager, Strategic Sourcing – Support Functions is a high-impact leadership role responsible for overseeing the sourcing lifecycle of goods and services for critical non-operational functions across the airline. This position is accountable for delivering cost savings, supplier performance, and enterprise value through strategic procurement execution. The manager will independently lead RFPs, negotiate and draft complex contracts, create detailed financial analyses, and report outcomes to internal stakeholders including senior executives. The manager will build and maintain key relationships with both external and internal stakeholders. This role also has direct leadership responsibility for a team of growing Strategic Sourcing Analysts, ensuring development, engagement, and high performance.

Essential Functions

Strategic Sourcing & RFP Execution (40%)

  • Lead the end-to-end sourcing process for a wide range of indirect categories – from stakeholder alignment through RFP issuance, financial modelling and supplier evaluation, negotiation, and final award.
  • Independently draft, redline, and negotiate contracts in collaboration with Legal and business partners.
  • Deliver fact-based supplier recommendations, supported by financial and operational impact analyses.
  • Ensure alignment with category strategy, compliance standards, and stakeholder objectives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Management (15%)

  • Build trusted partnerships with internal teams including Legal, Finance, IT, HR, and Operations.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and drive alignment in complex, cross-departmental initiatives.
  • Resolve conflicting priorities diplomatically and ensure sourcing decisions reflect enterprise goals.
  • Champion Sourcing best practices policies and procedures.

Contract Management & Vendor Governance (15%)

  • Manage full contract lifecycle, including execution, handover to operations, and compliance enforcement.
  • Monitor vendor performance and collaborate on action plans for performance improvement where required with internal stakeholders.
  • Drive cost savings and innovation through strong supplier relationships and commercial acumen.

Analytical Reporting & Project Insights (10%)

  • Create and present sourcing analyses including cost models, scorecards, and dashboards.
  • Prepare reporting packages to communicate sourcing results and performance KPIs to senior leadership.

Team Leadership & Development (20%)

  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of Strategic Sourcing Analysts.
  • Assign work aligned with development goals and capacity.
  • Conduct regular feedback, performance reviews, and career planning.
  • Foster a collaborative, results-oriented team culture.

Other Functions

  • Participate and contribute to budget process.
  • Attend industry-related conferences.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Engineering, or related field required.
  • Minimum 6 years’ experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain functions.
  • Strong contract negotiation and drafting skills; experience managing RFPs independently.
  • Demonstrated success in cross-functional environments and stakeholder management.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to create and explain financial/business analyses.
  • Prior experience managing team members or analysts strongly preferred.
  • Experience in the airline or transportation industry is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • End-to-end sourcing execution, including RFP, supplier selection, and contracting.
  • High proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and procurement/reporting platforms.
  • Financial modelling and business acumen.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience in Process and Procedure design and optimization.
  • Ability to influence without authority and manage internal expectations.
  • Team leadership and coaching capability.
