We’re searching for a dynamic business professional to join our team as a Project Manager!

This role will lead and manage all activities related to project life cycle and execution with regards to: mergers/acquisitions/integrations/divestitures/joint ventures, operational initiatives and support, business process improvements, technology enhancements, and other UPMC strategic projects and initiatives. This position is responsible for providing leadership, direction, and tactical execution with subject matter experts to support the project management and change management of HR’s strategic roadmap in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, the Project Manager will provide a clear vision of the project goals, objectives and execution plan. They’ll define the project metrics to the responsible business owners, develop and maintain detailed project plans, manage project tools and reporting and also be able to define business challenges and develop solutions to meet the stakeholders’ needs. They must provide clear direction, leadership, and accountability for project management efforts while collaborating with cross functional business partners for project development and execution.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with members of UPMC management and staff regarding assigned projects.
  • Executes project-level plans, identifies and resolves issues and remediates conflicts, and tracks project timelines and deliverables, regular stakeholder and resource communications.
  • Identify and help resolve potential issues and/or barriers which are critical to the success of a project.
  • Generate necessary project documentation, including meeting minutes, project deliverables, etc.
  • Maintain project documents within approved archival systems. Handle project administrative duties including scheduling requirements, SharePoint requirements, etc.
  • Apply cross-functional, change management and implementation strategies; ensure that all of the participating parties have committed to effective implementation of the processes and procedures; providing synergies and value beyond what can be provided in a single functional area. Provide concise and timely status reporting as required.
  • Develop and implement key metrics to measure and report on progress and value of initiatives
  • Proactively identify trends and process improvement opportunities across departments within projects and operations.
  • Manage technology and business process improvement, ensuring value realization of project results for operations.
  • Build, mentor, train and coach future leaders and project managers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources, Management or a closely related field is required.
  • Minimum of five years of related work experience in project management in a multi-faceted user environment directly managing multiple projects required.
  • Health care experience preferred.
  • Financial understanding is preferred.
  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) is preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills required, including MS Office Suite
  • Strong problem solving, organizational, and communication skills (oral and written) are required.
  • Very well organized and deadline conscious.
  • Project Management knowledge and future potential to manage multiple projects required.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Act 34
  • PMP or Six Sigma certification preferred.
