We operate local and remote teams across multiple locations, we design and build global solutions with variations to meet local requirements and we deploy these in ways that maximize value for our clients. We are recruiting for a large global SAP S/4HANA implementation being delivered from Dublin.

Amongst a variety of exciting career opportunities available within our SAP practice, we are seeking an experienced SAP Technical Architect at Manager / Senior Manager level to join our Dublin SAP team.

As a Manager in EY, you will become a key member of our SAP team. Your role will be focused primarily on managing the delivery of technical SAP services to large implementations of SAP S/4HANA. A secondary focus will be on the broader development of the SAP Technical practice within our SAP competency. In this role, you will help develop high-performing individuals and teams, leading and supporting them to deliver exceptional client services.

You will play a key role in developing new and strengthening existing client relationships through the delivery of business development, implementation, and support services. Our clients work across many different industries. EY also has a heavy focus on the development of new SAP assets and tools and this role will get to help shape the innovative culture that makes EY such a great place to work.

Your Key Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for the delivery of technical services (Infrastructure, cloud hosting, SAP Basis, SAP BTP, SAP Environment Planning & Management, Solution Manager, etc…) in support of the implementation of SAP solutions, including S/4HANA, for Irish and major global clients based out of Ireland. Proficiency
    • Proficiency in cloud and on-premises infrastructure, virtualization, and cloud migration. Knowledge of cloud platforms (SAP BTP, AWS, Azure), hybrid architecture models, and SAP Basis administration.
    • In-depth knowledge of cloud strategies, including SAP Business Technology Platform and cloud-to-cloud integrations. Expertise in SAP S/4HANA Cloud, SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), and hybrid cloud solutions, as well as cloud security practices. Solid understanding of SAP’s Cloud and Service strategies like S/4HANA Private vs. Public Cloud, SAP RISE, and SAP Grow.
    • Supporting the delivery team – ensuring they can realise the technical landscape through a combination of direct involvement and mentoring.
    • Apply large scale SAP Technical experience (including BASIS, ABAP, Security, and Integration), providing clarity in the mitigation of the impact of the design on the clients existing solutions.
    • Understanding of the SAP Clean Core paradigm, SAP Fiori, SAPUI5, ABAP, and customization within SAP’s development framework. Proficiency in SAP development tools (e.g., Web IDE, Eclipse), extension concepts, and methodologies such as DevOps and CI/CD.
    • Collaborate with IT leadership to align SAP technical strategies with overall IT and business objectives.
    • Ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements in all SAP implementations.
    • Capable of producing formal design governance papers on major technical architecture decisions and then presenting confidently on the same.
    • Developing an infrastructure strategy for a client, either greenfield or transition from on-premise to cloud.
    • Capable of developing a Technical Architecture design document, including SAP Environment Strategy and Plan
    • Proficiency in SAP’s ALM solutions, such as SAP Solution Manager, SAP Cloud ALM, and Focused Build for SAP Solution Manager. Knowledge of configuration and integration of these tools, understanding of their role in incident management, change management, and deployment. Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA deployment options and extensions (on-premise, cloud, hybrid).
    • Delivering compelling and confident presentations across client pursuits and external/internal events, building eminence.
    • Expert advisor executing technical impact analysis of major changes of an existing SAP solution (opportunity studies, S/4HANA Roadmap, Cloud migration, SAP PaaS / SaaS services, etc.)
    • Review and integrate all application requirements, including functional, security, integration, performance, quality and operations requirements.
    • Critical client-facing role that interprets and translates client requirements into a technology solution that can be configured from a standard set of offerings.
    • Responsible to demonstrate proof of concepts on different SAP solutions to the clients and involve in pre-sales.
    • Learning about accelerators such as SAP Model Company or EY’s Pre-Configured Industry Solutions for potential use as design accelerators on client engagements.

Skills and Attributes for Success:

To excel in this role, you should have:

    • A Third Level qualification in Technology, Engineering, Business or a related discipline
    • SAP, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform certifications preferred.
    • Proficiency SAP LeanIX, SAP Signavio expertise, Cloud ALM and TOGAF certification are ideal success criteria for this role.
    • A minimum of 10+ years’ experience in SAP projects in a Consulting or similar external client facing environment in a program/project management role.
    • Subject Matter Expert (SME) level knowledge and technical knowledge in SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, SAP MDG, SAP BW - BOBJ, SAP GRC (AC/PC) and other SAP NetWeaver based solutions.
    • Experience with, or demonstrable understanding of SAP RISE, S/4HANA best practice processes, key benefits, and implementation scenarios.
    • In-depth knowledge of SAP technical architecture, ABAP programming, SAP Fiori, SAP HANA, and integration technologies.
    • Experience in SAP SaaS Solutions such as BTP, CPI, Ariba, SAC, BAS products are preferred.
    • Knowledge of Non-SAP Solutions such as Kofax, Readsoft, Qlik, Datavard, Tricentis etc. are preferred.
    • Essential to have experience in SAP Cloud Solutions Technical Presales with Real-Life Solutions involving SAP Hardware Sizing and SAP Landscape Designing.
    • Experience in HA and DR setup for HANA system and other databases.
    • Must demonstrate a complete understanding of SAP HANA, Basis and Public cloud Infrastructure principles, theories, concepts, and techniques.
    • Must have a strong, demonstrated commitment to customer service and be committed to pro-active review of processes and procedures to continually enhance service quality, service delivery and support.
    • Candidate must have strong problem-solving skills, be self-directed and capable of working with minimal supervision.
    • Strong ability to lead, mentor and motivate teams, adopting a collaborative and supportive approach.
    • Proven ability to build and leverage relationships with senior level clients.
    • Proven success in delivery of large and complex SAP programmes.
