Asset Management, Investment Solutions Associate for Real Assets and Other Alternatives, New York

This is an Associate level position on the Omni Investment Solutions team for Real Assets and Other Alternatives, responsible for working closely with the investment, research and business development teams throughout J.P. Morgan’s $125bn+ Alternatives platform (Global Real Estate, Global Infrastructure, Global Transport, and Other Alternatives). The function of the Omni team is to design and implement global multi-strategy investment solutions across real assets and other alternatives that are customized to client objectives. To be successful in the role, the candidate will require strong analytical and technical capabilities, detailed organizational skills, deep private markets knowledge (preferred), a global perspective, and the ability to clearly communicate investment strategies to sophisticated investors globally. The position is to be based in New York.
Primary Responsibilities 
  • Assist in the development and enhancement of analytics and quantitative tools/frameworks focused on real assets/alternatives portfolio construction
  • Support the creation and maintenance of a global real assets/alternatives relative value quantitative framework
  • Develop, analyze and maintain time series returns, and fundamental/macro-economic data from various third party sources for custom collateral generation
  • Lead database design for creation and maintenance of a private markets fundamentals framework; liaise with global real asset/alternatives data providers
  • Continuously automate the portfolio construction and research/strategy aspects of the work stream
  • Create and maintain customized top quality collateral for multi-real assets/alternatives solutions – e.g., flipbooks, market overviews, etc.
  • Draft top quality research pieces that assist in positioning real assets/alternatives
  • Stay abreast of the latest trends in real assets/alternatives markets, capital flows and client preferences
  • Proactively coordinate with the real assets/alternatives teams across functions –investment, research, product development, marketing and strategy, finance, legal/compliance, and operations – as well as with the broader J.P. Morgan Asset Management franchise to achieve the job objectives


  • Candidate must hold a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree – preferably in a technical/quantitative discipline with training in finance, economics and/or private markets
  • Candidate must have a top GPA from undergraduate/graduate program
  • At least 3-5 years of work experience
  • Strong programming skills: especially proficient in database design and maintenance tools as well as general programming – e.g., VBA, SQL, C/C++, JavaScript, R, Python, MATLAB, etc.
  • Expertise in asset allocation concepts, advanced statistics and economics
  • A strong work ethic and a results-oriented, team-first attitude
  • A strong understanding of global and regional macroeconomics, and the ability to communicate the impact on real assets/alternatives investments  
  • Excellent communication skills which enable the creation, maintenance and delivery of compelling presentations
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Ability to manage and support multiple competing projects efficiently
