This is a Summer 2024 Internship – May 28 - August 2, 2024. MUST be able to commute to the Bethesda office 1-2 days per week.

See Yourself as a DevOps Engineering Intern

This role is ideal for candidates who are interested in broad exposure to a function/department within our organization. The hiring manager is looking for an undergraduate or graduate student that may be interested in longer-term career opportunities with Radian after graduation. The specific responsibilities of the internship will be based on the candidate’s background, as well as with work and projects currently within the department.

  • Research, design, and implement solutions around deployments and operations under the guidance of a senior engineer.
  • Learn the skills necessary for developing software in a fast paced, quality oriented environment.
  • Support, maintain and document software functionality.
  • Participate in design reviews and architecture discussions and create documentation.
  • Learn cloud and infrastructure components (server, storage, data, and applications) to deliver end to end cloud infrastructure architectures and designs.

As a DevOps Engineer Intern, you will get hands-on experience working with many of the following technologies:

  • DevOps Technologies: Terraform, Dockers, Kubernetes
  • Cloud : Azure, AWS
  • Acquire the tools and knowledge to contribute to a large-scale project.
  • Agile and Scrum methodologies
  • Cloud-based computing/environments.

Your Knowledge:

  • Currently pursuing a Graduate or Undergraduate degree (Junior or Senior) studying DevOps, IT, Computer Science, or Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with technologies and tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform (infrastructure as code), and helm.
  • An ability to think abstractly and work across different areas of the company.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

Prior Work Experience: Less than 6 months

Education and Credentials: HS Diploma/GED

Program Requirements

Interns will be required to participate in specific workshops and events in addition to their intern duties assigned by their people leader. This includes a NEW, 2-day in-person event at the Wayne, PA office, at the end of July.
