About the team

As the way we shop continues to evolve, our Digital team keeps us at the cutting edge. Driven by our innovative, inclusive, and forward-thinking culture, we’re constantly looking at ways to create differentiated, omni-channel experiences for our customers and build the next generation of digital retailing.

About the role

Join one of Australia’s most iconic brands as a Product Design Manager at Coles, where you’ll lead and inspire a talented team of Product Designers focused on transforming the checkout and post-purchase experience across Web and App.

We’re looking for a seasoned design leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a proven track record of driving end-to-end product design using a human-centred approach — from discovery and interaction design to high-fidelity UI and validation.

In this role, you’ll:

  • Champion thoughtful, customer-first design across digital touchpoints
  • Partner closely with product, engineering and commercial teams to deliver solutions that are desirable, feasible and viable
  • Foster a culture of design excellence and continuous improvement

Melbourne-based applicants preferred. If you’re ready to shape the future of digital shopping for millions of Australians, we’d love to hear from you.

About You:

  • 7+ years as a UX or Product Designer, with deep capability in UX/UI design, prototyping, and user testing
  • Strong experience designing end-to-end digital experiences, particularly checkout and post-purchase flows
  • 4+ years leading projects or teams in large, fast-paced environments with complex stakeholder needs
  • Proven experience designing for Web and App, using responsive and mobile-first principles
  • Background in Retail or FMCG is strongly preferred
  • Deep understanding of customer behaviours and how to translate data and insights into measurable design improvements
  • Highly detail-oriented, proactive and outcome-driven – able to deliver quality work fast
  • Comfortable working across both digital-native and more traditional businesses
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills across product, tech, data and marketing teams
  • Skilled in building and scaling design processes and toolkits
  • Strong advocate for human-centred design and customer advocacy in decision-making
