SOLARCORPS Clean Mobility Outreach Fellow (Oakland, CA)

The Opportunity…

We are seeking a Clean Mobility Outreach Fellow to engage with underserved communities impacted by environmental and economic injustice about the benefits and cost-savings of clean transportation options. The fellow will be trained and supervised by one of GRID's regional Clean Cars for All managers to support eligible community members through available statewide and regional clean transportation program processes and educate community members about other clean energy programs. Fellows will also gain skills in professional relationship building, facilitation, logistics, and program management that will be transferable within the renewable energy, education, and nonprofit industries.

  • Outreach Activities - support outreach activities such as community events, pop-ups, tabling, canvassing, virtual and in-person workshops, etc in order to increase awareness of the benefits of clean transportation and available programs
  • Community Care - provide education and assistance through phone, email, and/or text communications to answer interested applicants inquiries regarding program requirements and processes, as well as general inquiries about electric vehicles (EV), charging, e-bikes, and public transportation
  • Case Management - learn how to utilize a customer relationship management (CRM) platform to process applications, follow-up with applicants, and support their program journey towards EV adoption
  • Communications & Marketing - support story-telling efforts for posting to social media and publishing in e-newsletter, to highlight program impacts
  • Administrative Support - support the development and upkeep of program resources such as FAQs, flyers, step-sheets, email templates, call scripts, etc; as well as other program tasks as needed

What you need to bring to this role…

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to represent GRID Alternatives positively
  • Strong organizational and, multi-tasking skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Interest and enthusiasm for renewable energy, e-mobility, community development, and helping families and communities in need

It would be great if you also had…

  • Clean, valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Bilingual in Vietnamese or Nepalese, other languages considered as well

Let's Talk Money...

This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Hourly pay of $21.40 per hour, plus the benefits listed below. Fellows who complete 1700 hours with GRID and complete their contracted term of service will be eligible for a cash end of term award (amount to be determined).

Where you will sit & the places you may go...

This position may require 10%-25% out-of-town travel to regional offices and special projects. Availability to work nights and weekends may be required.

GRID Alternatives may provide vehicles for work travel and/or travel reimbursement for personal vehicle use. In this instance, applicants must hold a valid driver’s license and have a good driving record.
