Job Description:
This position is a job rotation anticipated to last 12 months, though may be extended or decreased due to business need. This rotation available for current regular status employees of the Oregon Department of Corrections, Oregon Corrections Enterprises, or Oregon Board of Parole, Probation, and Post-Prison Supervision with their current manger's approval
In this vital role, you’ll deliver top-tier customer service while performing a wide range of clerical and administrative support duties. This includes word processing, data entry, filing, ordering supplies, and assisting with special projects as needed. You’ll also help coordinate and monitor adult in custody programs, education, and activities, contributing to meaningful rehabilitation opportunities within a secure and structured environment. Every day, you’ll work closely with staff, adults in custody, and visitors to provide courteous, accurate, and timely service while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
This position is represented by American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME). This position may be eligible for Police & Fire (P&F) benefits through Public Employees Retirement System (PERS), as defined by statute.
Two (2) years of general clerical experience that includes keyboarding, word processing, or other experience generating documents; OR
An associate degree in any field; OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Warner Creek Correctional Facility is tobacco free. Use of tobacco products is prohibited within the buildings or on the grounds. Requires working in a minimum correctional institution. Must be willing to enforce security procedures and regulations.
Possible threat of physical or verbal abuse and assault. May be required to work overtime in an emergency. There is an inherent responsibility to provide assistance through recall and/or reassignment during AIC unrest and other emergency situations occurring at the institution.

The institution is located in Southern Oregon and is exposed to inclement weather. The institution has over 117,000 square feet of building space and is spread out over a 90 - Acre perimeter walking long distances to get to the workstation or perform work may be required.
All employees are required to use a computer for electronic mail and related AIC work systems in the regular performance of their duties.

The salary range listed above is for non-PERS qualifying applicants. PERS qualifying applicants may be eligible for an adjusted range to reflect an additional 6.95%.

The successful candidate for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility.
