IT Administrator III, Department of Technology Solutions - UT System Administration

The Windows Server and Azure Administrator will serve as a technical thought leader for the University of Tennessee System Administration (UTSA) cloud ecosystem of partners, customers, and service providers. Position will independently analyze enterprise-scale Microsoft Azure cloud SaaS, IaaS and PaaS solutions. They will lead, modify, deploy, test, and manages critical, high-impact, or urgent projects. Position will be a technical subject matter expert on both cloud and on-premises Windows infrastructure systems. Position will apply technical expertise in Microsoft cloud offerings to promote innovative enterprise solutions for the University of Tennessee.

A high school diploma or equivalency and 5 years of relevant experience is required.

Additional skills, experiences, and qualifications include:

  • Ability to architect and design secure technical solutions for Microsoft-centric solutions.
  • Knowledge of enterprise infrastructure solutions, including enterprise directories, on-premises hosting platforms, and datacenter storage and networking.
  • Advanced knowledge of cloud system engineering principles and security considerations.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft-centric cloud architectures, including web, application, and database components.
  • Strong project management and organization skills.
  • Ability to provide excellent communicate and present complex information both verbally and in written form.
  • Provide excellent customer service and explain new technologies to staff and faculty.

Preferred Qualifications

Associates Degree or Bachelors Degree and 7 years of relevant experience is preferred..

Preferred skills, experiences, and qualifications include:

  • SQL database administration
  • Azure Administrator Certification
  • Working knowledge of promoting applications and collaboration through Azure DevOps.

Benefits and Compensation

Compensation for the position is budgeted for $70,000 to $80,000.
