Job Description
- Lead and mentor a team of AV support specialists, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
- Coordinate AV support schedules and assignments to ensure adequate coverage across all hospital locations.
- Serve as the primary point of escalation for complex AV issues and provide expert-level troubleshooting.
- Develop and implement best practices, standards, and procedures for AV system operation and maintenance.
- Collaborate with other IT teams, facilities management, and clinical staff to ensure seamless integration of AV technology.
- Manage relationships with external AV vendors for equipment procurement, maintenance contracts, and specialized support.
- Provide advanced technical support for all AV hardware and software, including but not limited to:
- Video conferencing systems (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Webex, Cisco VC)
- Projection systems, displays, and video walls
- Audio systems, microphones, and sound reinforcement
- Control systems (e.g., Crestron, Extron)
- Digital signage solutions
- Streaming and recording equipment
- Install, configure, and test AV equipment for new installations and upgrades.
- Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot AV system malfunctions, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Diagnose and resolve complex AV issues in a timely and efficient manner, escalating to vendors when necessary.
- Maintain accurate inventory of AV equipment and manage equipment loans and deployments.
- Develop and deliver training programs for hospital staff on the proper use of AV equipment and systems.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including user guides, troubleshooting procedures, and system diagrams.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest AV technologies and trends, evaluating their potential application within the hospital system.
- Participate in AV-related projects, including planning, budgeting, and implementation.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to define AV requirements for new spaces and renovations.
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to specifications.
- Provide exceptional customer service and support to all AV users, addressing inquiries and resolving issues professionally and courteously.
- Anticipate and proactively address potential AV challenges.
- Gather user feedback to identify areas for improvement in AV services and support.
- Technical understanding of Crestron Control Systems, integrated Conference Room Spaces, Cisco WebEx Codec integration and software Application, Cisco Video Conference Codecs & All in one Cisco Systems.
- Technical understanding of Patient TV Provider signal pathways at both facility’s, Buildings Wiring infrastructure & Head End inputs.
- Responsible for working with Telehealth / AVIDEX on patient / waiting room TVs & all TV/Signal related issues.
- Responsible for maintaining ticket status and resolution information in H+H ticketing system/database. Along with any Audio-Visual related Tickets.
- Responsible for Large & Small Events and will regularly work with VIP Customers and assist how ever needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned/required
Minimum Qualifications
1. A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, applied Mathematics, Business Administration, Economics/Statistics, Telecommunications, Data Communications, or a related field of study; and
2. Five (5) years of progressive, responsible experience in the field of data processing, computer systems and applications.
Operations Specialty requires supervisory experience (5 years).
Network Services requires a telecommunications background and experience.
3. Broad knowledge and expertise in the characteristics of computers, peripheral devices, communications systems and hardware capabilities, programming languages, E.D.P. applications, systems analysis methodology, data management and retrieval techniques; or
4. A satisfactory equivalent combination of training, education and experience
Department Preferences
Certification(S)/NYS Licenses/Education:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Audiovisual Technology, Information Technology, Electronics Engineering) or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in audiovisual support, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
