Your impact

Are you ready to shape the future of complex, program-driven facilities? At Jacobs, we’re seeking a Senior Architect to join our Cities & Places Solutions team in Philadelphia, where you’ll lead innovative architectural designs that inspire communities and transform spaces.

As part of our growing team, you’ll collaborate closely with design principals, discipline leads, and project managers to deliver dynamic, high-impact projects that align with client needs, aspirations, and budgets. If you’re passionate about pushing boundaries and leading teams to success, this is your opportunity to make a lasting impact.

As a Senior Architect, you’ll:

  • Develop project work plans, budgets, and schedules to ensure efficient execution.
  • Lead the preparation of drawings, narratives, and technical specifications from schematic to detailed design phases.
  • Oversee comprehensive multi-disciplinary coordination to ensure fully integrated project delivery.
  • Supervise and mentor teams, ensuring high standards of work while monitoring project performance.
  • Review submittals, respond to contractor inquiries, and conduct periodic site visits during construction.
  • Travel periodically to project sites throughout design and construction phases to ensure successful implementation.

What Makes You Stand Out

We’re looking for a visionary architect who demonstrates:

  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • The ability to balance multiple priorities while maintaining high-quality design standards.
  • A self-driven, quality-oriented mindset, capable of working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A deep understanding of structural, mechanical, and electrical systems, and how they interconnect in complex facilities.

We value collaboration and believe that in-person interactions are crucial for both our culture and client delivery. We empower employees with our hybrid working policy, allowing them to split their work week between Jacobs offices/projects and remote locations enabling them to deliver their best work.

Here's what you'll need

  • 15+ years of experience in commercial, institutional, research, microelectronics, mission-critical, or transit facility projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Licensed Architect with active registration in at least one U.S. state.
  • Proficiency in Revit, Bluebeam Revu, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and other modeling/rendering software.
  • Expertise in multi-discipline design processes, construction documentation, and administration.
  • Experience leading and supervising design teams with a strong ability to mentor.
