Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of experience in product design or UX.
• Experience designing across multiple platforms, and working with technical/design teams to create user flows, wireframes, and building user interface mockups and prototypes.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 15 years of experience in product design or UX.
• 7 years of experience working in a cross-functional organization.
• 6 years of experience leading design projects.
• 5 years of experience working with executive leaders.

About the Job

As a Lead UX Designer and Prototyper, you will rely on user-centered design methods to craft industry-leading user experiences from concept to execution. You will collaborate with design partners to leverage and evolve the Google design language to build innovative and inspired products. You will own the user experience goal, visual design, and will be responsible for prototyping features (leveraging GenAI) for YouTube Shopping. You will collaborate with leaders across YouTube and Google, to shape the future of video commerce and drive design strategy.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $224,000-$315,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

• Create, iterate, and implement a user experience goal, strategy and roadmap for YouTube Shopping.
• Lead visual design for YouTube Shopping and partner with other YouTube visual design leaders in shaping the future of YouTube’s design system and style across the entire platform.
• Prototype features and experiences, leveraging GenAI where applicable, for use in conveying design concepts to teams and executives, as well as to users.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders within Google and YouTube across Shopping and Commerce space to develop innovative product design concepts and UI patterns.
• Advocate a strong product design point of view for partners and leadership, setting the UX standard to drive conversations beyond just delivering solutions.
