You will be part of an expert team working with local communities across the US Virgin Islands, supporting the Office of Disaster Recovery in building safe, resilient & thriving communities by completing key recovery projects to transform and strengthen the Territory’s infrastructure.

The USVI Office of Disaster Recovery, a division of the Virgin Islands Public Finance Authority, has entrusted us with the critical task of managing and supporting federally funded recovery projects across the U.S. Virgin Islands. Our work will involve overseeing the reconstruction of key educational, healthcare and infrastructure projects, all of which were severely impacted by Hurricanes Irma and Maria in 2017. As an Infrastructure Design Management Lead, you will play a crucial role in ensuring seamless communication between various stakeholders involved in infrastructure projects in various geographies in the Caribbean islands of USVI. In this crucial role, you’ll oversee and optimize the flow of services and information within Jacobs and the US Virgin Islands program. This involves creating and implementing comprehensive design strategies that align with the Super PMO, Office of Disaster Recovery, and the overall program goals. You will apply your program design management knowledge and experience in the development and delivery of the commercial and technical interfaces work closely with internal stakeholders and serving as a liaison for the Super PMO, the Office of Disaster Recovery and the other agencies involved in this program.

An Infrastructure Design Management Lead, you play a vital role in ensuring smooth communication across various stakeholders in infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the design and coordination of utility infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with project goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as a liaison between design teams, utility companies, and regulatory bodies to facilitate smooth project execution.
  • Develop project schedules and budgets, monitoring progress to ensure timely and cost-effective completion.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to design teams, addressing any issues that arise during the design process.
  • Successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously, completed on time, within budget, in accordance with agreed client scope, and of the highest quality.
  • Work with team of designers to ensure a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Coordinate design activities across various projects, ensuring timely and efficient completion of tasks.
  • Engage with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to understand design requirements and expectations.
  • Oversee the quality of design deliverables, ensuring they meet client expectations and industry standards.
  • Conduct regular design reviews and provide feedback to ensure continuous improvement and adherence to design standards.
  • Ensure all designs meet safety standards and industry best practices, conduct thorough reviews and audits.
  • Develop and manage design budgets, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources and adherence to financial targets and budget constraints.
  • Provide oral and written reports of program/project/task status and ensure contract deliverables are delivered to the appropriate stakeholders’ contractual requirements.
  • Facilitate the creation of communication plans, ensuring that appropriate information is exchanged between key stakeholders, and conduct status review meetings with project team members and clients throughout project execution.
  • Regularly brief senior management and other key stakeholders on program/project/task status measurement data.
  • Stay current with emerging design trends, technologies, and best practices, and incorporate them into projects.
  • Take overall responsibility and accountability for the quality of project documents in adherence with Jacobs Quality Program, endorsing and implementing company policies and procedures.

Here's what you'll need

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Architecture
  • Professional Registration (PE) or Registered Architect (RA)
  • 8+ years of experience, including experience with federal programs and managing Federal planning and design projects
  • Experience as a client facing Design Project Manager managing multiple disciplines

Ideally, You’ll Also Have:

  • Professional Registration (PE) or Registered Architect (RA) is preferred. Project Management Institute (PMI) Certification will be considered
  • Demonstrated design and project management experience within Federal and/or DOD markets.
  • Experience leading design teams in Design-Build contracts
  • Experience in all facets of A/E Services (e.g. programming, planning, studies, DB RFP development, Full design, etc.)
  • Experience with Federal Design Criteria and policies.
  • Minimum 10 Years of Project Management Experience in Architecture and Engineering design

175,000.00

Posted Salary Range: Upper

200,000.00

The base salary range for this position is $175,000.00 to $200,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
