We are looking for an

UX WRITER (m/f/d)

(unlimited, full-time) Join our team at our location in Berlin – flexible working conditions available

What you will do

As a UX writer at Riverty, you’ll help our users understand and navigate our service across all channels and touchpoints. You will help connect and unify user journeys across the Riverty app, webshop checkouts, invoicing, payments, and more.

You’ll join our very international team of UX designers, UI designers, service designers, and one fellow UX writer, where you will be an advocate for purpose-driven dialogs and user-centric language and communication.

Your time will mainly be spent developing and refining app and email content – think of invoices, payment reminders, and microcopy. You’ll work closely with UX designers, product managers, and developers on creating, adjusting, and implementing content across different products and user journeys. A part of your time will also be set aside for more strategic UX writing work such as establishing and maintaining guidelines, building a content design system, setting up processes, conducting workshops, and other initiatives to help UX writing at Riverty shine as a discipline.

About you

Requirements

You will succeed in this role if you have the following skills:

  • Writing proficiency: You are an experienced UX writer, copywriter, content marketer, technical writer, etc. Previous experience as a UX writer is not necessary, as long as you have other professional writing experience.
  • You are skilled in adapting your writing for different contexts, styles, and functions, languages, and matching tone & voice guidelines
  • Fluency in German (added bonus if you are a native speaker) and comfortable working in English
  • You should be comfortable reading, writing, speaking, and conducting and observing user interviews in German
  • Collaboration: You are experienced working with cross-functional teams and collaborating with designers, product managers, developers, and/or other stakeholders
  • Communication: You are a pro at communicating effectively with your teammates and our users
  • You have experience breaking down complexity for your audience or users and communicating complex concepts in a simple way
  • Strategic thinking: You see how the words you use and the way you use them shape the bigger picture, and vice versa
  • Affinity with research: If you haven’t done UX or consumer research in a past role, you really want to learn
  • User-centric mindset: You always empathize with your users and you write to connect with them where they are

Nice to haves:

We would be especially excited if you have any of the following (but we’re also excited if you come learn with us):

  • Experience developing voice & tone guidelines, working with content design systems, content components, or other forms of content management and governance
  • A background in linguistics
  • Experience with B2C communications
  • Experience with localization or working with Crowdin or other translation tools
  • You’re excited about content-first design

If you don’t check all of these boxes but still feel you'd be a good fit for the role, we encourage you to apply.
