The range for this role is $17.07 - $21.88
Actual base pay will be determined based on a successful candidate's work location, skills/abilities, experience, and education. This role includes opportunity to receive an annual bonus target of 5% of annual eligible earnings. Actual bonus amounts are determined by length of time in role, individual performance, and organizational performance.
This is a fully onsite position in our Melbourne, FL office. Shifts are on a monthly rotation in which you will work 6:00 am - 3:00 pm for one month and 10:30 am - 7:00 pm the next, Monday through Friday.

The Job
Responsible to guard, patrol, and monitor premises to deter disturbances and to facilitate the general security operation of the site. Work closely with the entire CCM leadership team to support the overall mission of the Ministry and impact the Kingdom of God. In order to accomplish their work properly, the Security Guard must be very well organized and have excellent interpersonal skills and motivational competencies.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Patrols the assigned site on foot or in vehicle: checks for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, blocked entrances and exits, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons
- Maintains a safe and secure environment for customers and employees while providing general security duties to our staff and visitors
- Investigates disturbances and responds to alarms and other calls for assistance
- May have to respond to complex or serious emergency situations (active shooter, political unrest/protests, bomb threats, hostile employee, suicidal person, medical, etc.) and may be required to use deadly force
- Assists Human Resources with employee terminations
- Regularly monitors surveillance cameras and reviews footage when required/as directed
- Investigates illegal or suspicious activities
- Displays exceptional customer service and communication skills while greeting and checking in staff and guests
- Warns violators of rule infractions: such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles; and apprehends or expels persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts
- Escorts employees to parking area after dark
- Prepares logs and reports as required
- Contributes to the exercise and expression of Christian Care Ministry’s Christian beliefs
- All other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent with 3-5 years’ previous experience in an armed guard role required
- Security Guard Certification (40-hour course) is required
- “D” License Training – Basic Security Officer Standards, 40-hour course required
- “G” License Training – 28-hour course required
- Yearly re-qualifications – Firearms re-qualification required
- Valid State of Florida Driver’s License (FDL) required
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) is required
- Law enforcement or military experience is preferred
- First responder and/or armed transport experience preferred
- CPR/AED, Stop the Bleed, EMT, and other medical training preferred
- Supplementary security guard training preferred
- NIMS training preferred
- POST from any agency preferred
