Job Description

We’re looking for a UI/UX Designer to join our Bangalore team building industry-leading applications for connected lighting. Signify’s digital portfolio includes IoT applications that leverage data generated by millions of light points in cities, offices, and other professional installations. Customers use our software to manage their lighting system and gain valuable insights into space utilization, environmental factors, energy optimization, and more.

Working as a UI/UX Designer at Signify is dynamic. You’ll play an active role in a world-class design team that is at the heart of a brand’s strategy, be an essential part of a dynamic structure that sits within the corporate Innovation team of Signify and whose mission is to deliver meaningful insights and value to the business by leveraging the power of a strong in-house design function. We’re greater together through peer learning in our globally diverse team, with different backgrounds and nationalities.

The Signify Design Team is a diverse team with a global footprint and wide-ranging areas of expertise. Its responsibilities include supporting a variety of business groups, advocating design practices, leading change, sparking collaboration, understanding users, building competence, and elevating the standards for design in our industry. We work closely with product managers, engineers, and researchers to deliver cohesive digital services and products. A love for people, design and an eye for detail is in our DNA.

As a UI/UX Designer you’ll be responsible for crafting user friendly web and native applications that translate business and user needs into innovative digital offerings. Our software represents a wide range of lighting-related applications for the professional market and for our global connected lighting brand Interact. You will be fully hands-on when it comes to research, ideation, design development supported by our global UX team in Asia, Europe, and the US.

What you’ll do

  • Design the UI/UX for global, industry-leading applications on responsive web and native platforms
  • Produce clear and organized wireframes, flowcharts, and specifications
  • Craft high-fidelity mockups and prototypes using our existing multi-brand design system
  • Provide feedback to development teams ensuring high implementation quality
  • Work closely with Product Management and R&D to develop user-centric product requirements
  • Apply research methods including usability testing and competitive analysis to inform design and product decisions

What you’ll need

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in a Design-related field
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant user-centered design experience in software development
  • Ability to demonstrate your past work and process via a strong design portfolio
  • Advanced-level use of Figma and Agile development tools and methods
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the latest web and mobile design trends, frameworks, and best practices
