The APD Digital Engineering Ecosystem (DEE) subsection is a systems organization responsible for the development, integration and deployment of the DEE for a new military CAT1 NPI. This NPI will progress through the design, development, vehicle integration, testing and qualification of an engine concept that integrates advanced technologies to meet challenging customer requirements. The DEE is a collaborative network which allows permission-based access to program information through a common data repository for all program level information to enable the development, coordination and delivery of engineering products to the customer. It consists of an integrated set of digital tools, processes, methodologies, databases and connections that will enable the design, development, integration, manufacturing & assembly, testing, qualification and maintenance of the engine concept.
The APD DEE Engineer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining various aspects of the DEE and ensure that customers, suppliers and cross-functional team members understand the benefits and properly employ the DEE to achieve program objectives. This role requires a strong background in classical systems engineering, digital tools, and data analytics. The successful candidate must be self-motivated and able to work with multiple external customers and stakeholders to ensure coordination and execution of program efforts.
This role is pivotal in ensuring the DEE serves as the single source of truth for digital engine data, driving accuracy, consistency, and efficiency in Digital Part List (DPL) management. Managing the digital engine in the DEE is crucial to enable efficient engine configuration change management and unlock capabilities for model-based manufacturing and assembly. The digital engine will be used to support the process for digital qualification of the engine and the development of a Digital Twin (DTw) for use in life cycle management.
