Summary

The Executive Vice President (EVP), Member Relations leads and inspires the member relations team while overseeing new member acquisition, membership renewals, membership engagement, and member services.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work with the Senior Executive Vice President, Member Engagement to develop a membership strategy to attract, retain, and engage with community banks that align with ICBA organizational goals and strategic priorities.
  • Establish strategic relationships and collaborations with ICBA internal departments to create engagement strategies that support business growth and member engagement.
  • Create and implement operational best practices including identifying areas for improvement, aligning team member’s goals to department goals and metrics, and continuously monitoring and adapting practices based on performance data.
  • Manage the operational aspects of the members relations department including the annual budget, compensation plans, performance management, hiring, and staff development and retention.
  • Provide leadership to member relations team through effective communication of vision and active coaching and by offering proactive support and guidance, fostering a team culture of growth and excellence, and resource sharing of best practices.
  • Gather, analyze, and translate member feedback into actionable insights that inform member solutions, enhance member satisfaction, operational improvements, and resource allocation.
  • Track and distribute monthly, quarterly, and annual new member engagement and membership renewal updates and forecasts.
  • Develop and leverage data analytics to effectively understand, assess, and predict member behavior and industry changes.
  • Maintain competitive industry knowledge to create and adjust new member sales and engagement strategies, helping ICBA navigate shifts in the member landscape.

Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of community banking industry/financial services, regulatory requirements and issues
  • Minimum 12 years of management experience within the financial services industry
  • At least 5 years of experience managing a nationwide/regionally dispersed direct sales team.
  • Experience working within an Association or membership driven organization, building relationships, and selling memberships is preferred.
  • Experience and success in recruiting and retaining high performance sales and relationship management personnel.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships, both internally and externally.
  • Proven business analysis and judgment with the ability to proactively manage business and P&L to meet objectives.
  • Ability to use data and analytics to enhance the performance of the team.
  • Skilled at developing and implementing strategy, project management, and problem solving.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, strong relationship building skills, and strong written and oral presentation skills.
  • Business related computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom, NetForum, and Power BI are a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

ICBA offers competitive compensation and benefits and is conveniently located in the nation’s capital. The target annual salary range for this role is $200,000- $255,000 plus bonus/commission based on a regular, full-time schedule. The amount of compensation offered will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications, market data and internal equity.
