Join a New Chapter in Talent Acquisition at Optum Ireland

We’re building something new. As part of Optum Ireland’s continued investment in talent and innovation, we are establishing a brand-new Talent Acquisition team dedicated to supporting our rapidly evolving business.

This is a unique opportunity to join at the ground level - helping to shape the strategy, culture, and delivery model of a high-performing recruitment function.

We’re looking for people with experience in fast-moving, high-growth environments - particularly in tech, pharma, or other regulated industries - who are excited by the chance to build, lead, and make a lasting impact from day one.

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Recruiter to join our new Talent Acquisition team. In this role, you will take ownership of high-impact recruitment initiatives, partnering with senior business leaders to shape and execute talent strategies that align with organizational goals. If you’re a proactive, data-driven talent strategist with a passion for creating impactful hiring solutions, we’d love to hear from you.

Careers with Optum offer flexible work arrangements and individuals who live and work in the Republic of Ireland will have the opportunity to split their monthly work hours between our Letterkenny office and telecommuting from a home-based office in a hybrid work model.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Candidate Selection: Design and continuously improve robust, competency-based assessment strategies. Train and calibrate interview panels, ensuring consistency, fairness, and alignment with organizational values
  • End-to-End Recruitment: Own high-impact, complex hiring projects with minimal oversight. Balance a strategic workload with hands-on execution, and mentor others in best-practice, full-cycle recruiting
  • Sourcing Channels: Develop and execute multi-channel sourcing campaigns for hard-to-fill or niche roles. Evaluate sourcing effectiveness and make data-informed recommendations to improve channel ROI
  • Technology Utilization: Champion the use of TA technology and automation. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and partner with operations or systems teams to enhance recruiter enablement tools
  • Experience Ambassador: Set the standard for exceptional candidate and hiring manager experiences. Identify friction points in the recruitment journey and lead initiatives to optimize and scale improvements
  • Offer Management: Lead complex offer negotiations involving equity, relocation, and counteroffers. Act as a trusted advisor on compensation strategy, market benchmarks, and internal parity
  • Collaboration: Act as a strategic partner to business leaders and People function colleagues. Influence cross-functional initiatives (e.g. DEI, talent mobility, employer branding) through active involvement in planning and execution
  • Data-Driven Decisions: Interpret and present talent data to influence strategic decisions. Use predictive analytics and market intelligence to shape hiring strategies and stakeholder engagement.
  • Talent Pool Development: Design and manage proactive talent mapping and pipelining efforts for future hiring priorities. Collaborate with workforce planning and business units to align pipeline activity to forecasted needs
  • Relationship Building: Develop long-term engagement strategies with critical talent segments. Serve as a talent advisor across the business, identifying and nurturing future hires ahead of demand

You will be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role, as well as providing development for other roles you may be interested in.
