Job Description

Join our exceptional team at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. as the Senior NPI Sourcing Engineer, where you will lead the sourcing and procurement of materials, parts, components, and assemblies. Your efforts will result in cost savings, high-quality products, faster manufacturing, and on-time delivery to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead in sourcing and procuring of materials, parts, components and assemblies to provide company with a competitive edge through lower material cost, quality product, shorter manufacturing cycle-time and timely delivery to customers
  • Support new product / transfer program by acting as focus person to co-ordinate procurement activities until 1st production run
  • Provide technical sourcing support to R&D to meet aggressive CoGS target and/or new suppliers/material for development
  • Drives the release of materials in timely manner with project core team / R&D to meet production build dates
  • Support R&D sourcing effort by identifying and purchasing of components during prototype build
  • Lead and drive sourcing activities to achieve cost saving target or supply risk mitigation for new product / transfer program
  • Investigates new or alternate sources of supply to support new product development, cost reduction requirements and/or supplier performance issues
  • Advocate the category strategies within the business during product development phase

Qualification

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in engineering field with at least 8 years of sourcing experience
  • Proven ability to lead in sourcing and procuring of materials, parts, components, and assemblies
  • Experience supporting new product/transfer programs by coordinating procurement activities until the first production run
  • Technical sourcing expertise to meet aggressive CoGS targets and/or new suppliers/materials for development
  • Ability to drive the release of materials in a timely manner with R&D and project core teams to meet production build dates
  • Experience in supporting R&D sourcing efforts by identifying and purchasing components during prototype builds
  • Demonstrated success in leading and driving sourcing activities to achieve cost-saving targets or supply risk mitigation in NPI programs
  • Ability to investigate new or alternate sources of supply to support new product development, cost reduction requirements, and/or supplier performance issues
  • Strong advocacy for category strategies within the business during the product development phase
  • Outstanding ability to achieve results in a fast-paced and uncertain environment
