Private Equity Analyst Program

As a Private Equity Analyst, you will provide analytical support to BBH Capital Partners, BBH’s Private Equity arm that manages funds with total capital commitments in excess of $2 billion. You will focus on traditional private equity functions such as company/industry research, transaction analysis and valuation work, and traditional corporate advisory assignments where BBH leverages its expertise and relationships to advise private businesses. To be successful, you will need a strong work ethic with outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills. *This program will commence in Summer 2018*.

Responsibilities include conducting market research; creating detailed transaction models; identifying potential private equity investment opportunities; conducting detailed company valuations; conducting industry and company due diligence; assisting in portfolio company monitoring; writing investment summary memorandums; and, writing confidential information memorandums. Through this job, you will be required to confer with a target’s management team and advisors to diligence and analyze a variety of industries. Similarly, you will be expected to analyze proposed business transactions; prepare pro forma M&A and LBO financial models; and understand valuation methodologies including comparable company, discounted cash flow and precedent acquisition analysis.

In addition, you will have responsibilities for BBH’s Corporate Advisory Group (“CAG”), which advises owner-managers on corporate strategy, M&A, and other financing transactions. BBH Capital Partners and CAG are both a part of BBH's Private Banking division.  The Analyst role provides you with a unique opportunity to gain exposure to both principal investing as well as corporate advisory.  

Qualifications:

  • One year of experience in investment banking, specifically within corporate finance / M&A
  • GPA of 3.5 or higher -- Candidates of all majors will be considered but should have demonstrated strong interests in the financial and M&A markets
  • Strong writing and analytical skills
  • A strong interest in principal company and related industry research.

Subject to performance and compliance with firm policies, this position will last for 2 years. Exceptional analysts may have the opportunity for advanced placement thereafter.
