Accela is excited to be setting up a development centre in Dublin, Ireland. You will be joining this initial startup team developing GovTech solutions connecting people, things and businesses in Government.  Located in the centre of Dublin, we will be bringing together an creative and collaborative team to drive all levels of development from Dev, QA, Site Reliability and Database Management to create a leading hub of Product Development for Accela.

Where do you fit:

As a Sr. Test Automation Engineer, you will be an accelerating automated software testing across our platform.  You will bring industry-leading technical abilities that enable you to significantly improve product quality for applications at Accela. You will work with the software product and development teams, and will be part of the Engineering team analyzing business requirements, developing and executing test suites to provide maximum test coverage, building test automation suites using open source tools and integrating with CI/CD process to drive stellar quality in our product.  The skills to communicate clearly and effectively, across globally located teams will be critical.  You will have exposure to a broad set of challenges, develop a strong understanding of our customer experiences, improve product quality.  All of which will enable your career growth and proximity to abundant technical challenges.  

 

Impact you will make in the role:

  • Collaborate with Product Management and other departments to analyze business requirements and develop test solutions
  • Work on every aspect of automated testing; including developing API/functional tests, UI/Integration tests
  • Develop in-house automation frameworks/tools and bring in open source tools and technologies to solve automation problems
  • Maintain automated regression suites/packages that are compliant with changing requirements and features
  • Participate in scrum team development cycles and provide necessary QA support 
  • Suggest and introduce new methodologies for test cases, regression, and functional testing
  • Coach other Quality Engineers in best software engineering practices in test automation and design
  • Implement QA methodology, test suite optimization, testing techniques and approaches to improve quality
  • Ability to Interpret product architecture and system design
  • Ability to work with cross functional teams geographically located by constantly building easy-to-use test frameworks

 

Expertise you will bring in:

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline
  • 7+ years of Software test automation work experience for a web or mobile-based product
  • Hands on automation testing experience leveraging Open Source Test automation frameworks and tools (Selenium, Robot, Appium, Ready API, Jmeter)
  • Experience in and a solid understanding of Continuous Integration/Deployment environment
  • Strong understanding in Web technologies and experience in scripting languages such as Java, Python, Ruby, ANT or Maven
  • Strong analytical, debugging and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with SAAS deployment; experience managing, deploying and supporting multiple concurrent releases through various test environment
  • Experience in taking ownership in core functional product areas 
  • Solid understanding of SQL and experience doing data quality testing with large data sets
  • Experience working in fast paced Agile environments with working knowledge of Scrum principles and methodologies
  • Participation in defect triage meetings and providing defect & test reports to project team
  • Experience with testing in cloud based systems like Azure
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills, and ability to communicate detailed technical analysis to stakeholders
  • Ability to champion QA processes throughout the engineering organization
